Prevent Rust on Exhaust Weld Joints

I went to a car show about 12 years ago with one of my cars. Next to me was an elderly man with a 1950 ford and the hood open. His exhaust manifolds looked great in a dull silver color. I asked him what he did to look so good. He advised me to use "Anti-Seize". This would be brushed on liberly...

    Exhaust manifold paint / anti-seize

Yes, I have done this for five years after an old timer told me he did it on his 1950 Ford. I have not had to re-apply unless I missed a spot.

What''s the going rate for dual exhaust

Last year I had new exhaust for my '69 Pontiac Grand Prix. Aluminized pipes, cheaper stock mufflers (sounds better) and no resonators for $400. I would check with any car club members who they use and outreach any custom exhaust places within a 30 miles area.

    An Exhausting Decision

If not cheaper, as my '69 Grand Prix was completely done last year with tax for $400. "One can only preach so much until people act on their own".

    An Exhausting Decision

This year I had a custom shop build everything by hand. No cutting of old flanges. This car was a 1969 Pontiac Grand Prix, 400 motor, dual exhaust, no resonators. The mufflers were economy stock mufflers. He did it all for $350 plus tax. I would check with local car club members for their...

    Exhaust exit advice

If I remember correctly...the SFGT Box tips are very close to the Challenger of that year. Maybe the difference was that the placemenet of in inlet was not centered, it was offset. And price was around $300 for a set.

With shipping its only $100 difference. If your local guy is a seasoned professional then its worth to stay local.

    Dual exhaust help

When I have thought of this same issue myself, I went to Youtube.com and looked for the same type of car with the type/lack of mufflers. If not the exact one then look for similar size motors in other style of cars. Another option is to go directly to the muffler websites and see if you can...
