    Won't Stop Cranking

Thanks for the info guys. I stuck the old distributor back in and it started right up and runs great. Points looked new so I'll talk to the customer but I'd leave it as it is if it were mine.

    Won't Stop Cranking

This car is giving me problems. When It got here it ran but barely. Had a junk carb on it. I replace the carb and it ran good. I drove it around the neighborhood but when I got home it died and wouldn't start. No spark. I quit for the day but when I came out the next morning it started right up...

    Won't Stop Cranking

Yeah I thought so but I was hoping I wouldn't have to crawl under there as I have a dead car on my lift. I just tapped on it with a hammer and it unstuck for now.

    Won't Stop Cranking

63 Fury, Poly 318. No start and when key turned off it keeps cranking. I swapped out the starter relay and ignition switch with no change. What am I missing?

    Battery Question

It's a lot newer than the 19's. But I do think it is D for date 02 (Feb) CY Calendar Year 19 (2019) So I'm thinking it's 41/2 years old.

    Battery Question

I'm trying to determine how old this battery is. I'm wondering if the Y19 at the end of this number means 2019. @live4theking @cbarge Anyone know? Thanks.

    I think I broke something . . . but it doesn't make sense (66 Newport)

If I remember the cluster on the 65-66 's aren't too bad to remove.

    Formal Tail Light Circuit

As soon as I find one I'm buying a FSM for my 74 Monaco but in the meantime can anyone with a good wiring diagram tell me what other if any accessory's are on the same circuit (fuse) as the tail lights? Want to figure out just what I need to trace down.

I think it’s the Ballast resistor?

But you carry a spare now, right?

I think it’s the Ballast resistor?

I do admire you guys with the great diagnostic abilities but with ballast resistors I just always carry a spare and swap it out at the first sign of trouble. If it fixes it great if not then it's crying time.

Starts but won't run issue, help me trouble shoot

A spare ballast resistor in the glove box is a necessity in my opinion.

    Starting issues...where to start?

Couple of first steps. Even though the battery is charged it may fail under load if it's bad. I'd try starting it with the battery charger on. Of course make sure all connections are clean and tight. Then I'd check the starter relay. Try jumping it with a screwdriver and see if it turns over...
