I bought my Newport sight unseen but it was from a very well known and respected C- body guy. Car was everything he said it was and more, and it was up to snuff to drive it 1500 miles home across the deserts of Nevada and Arizona.

His exec VP emailed me earlier today to tell me it was true. He and I are friends.

Back in the day, when I'd see a string of VW vans struggling on the mounting passes north bound on I5 in Oregon, it was then I knew the Dead were playing at Autzen Stadium in Eugene.

The worst thing to happen to Oregon is the Californicators that moved here. California is rapidly becoming a third world hell hole, spoiling all it comes in contact with. The state needs cleaned off with well placed thermonuclear strikes and started over with again.

Well, ya dont dump it all at once...;-) The 747 is a good tanker, but not as useful in these canyons and such where we normally get our fires. We had DC-10's, a 737, some Bae jets and a DC7 bombing the Almeda fire, dropping on neighborhoods to keep them from burning.
