I got the unanswerable questions you’ve been begging for

I agree that looking at putting the car body on the Jeep is likely the easier option. If that boggles the mind then you don't understand the awd swap you asked about yet...

has anyone driven a large distance?

I bought my 70 in 1997 while in college at Iowa state. Needed a car with AC for internship in Dallas. Did brakes, belts, hoses, front wheel bearings. Swapped to aluminum slots. Drove to SW Iowa for Christmas and about lost the front wheel. Small town JY opened up to help me with new hub. Made...

    I've Got the No-Charge Blues

I don't see it mentioned yet... You can have a 500amp alternator on a bone stock car and wiring and be perfectly fine. An alternator only responds to the demands on the system, it doesn't give it's full output unless requested. If your car is stock it's never going to ask for more than 40-50 amps.

    What’s it worth - 1968 Sport Fury 2 door Hdtp w/ 520” stroker.

    What’s it worth - 1968 Sport Fury 2 door Hdtp w/ 520” stroker.

It's tough because the combo would never be competitive in stock appearing races, just not the right car. I'm not an expert in SA vs FAST or pure stock, but the car doesn't seem to be 'extreme' enough for it, and yet too extreme to be 'just a car'. I can completely understand the set of...

    What’s it worth - 1968 Sport Fury 2 door Hdtp w/ 520” stroker.

Hard to price but probably easier to sell than my turbo fury  Our special creatures take special owners. I would think maximum dollars to fund the 71 would come from selling the stroker and putting a stock engine in the car.

To Mod, or Not to Mod, that is the question. What will break at 500hp?

I don't like 3.55 either. 3.23 or 3.91 - pick one that'll do what you want, not the one in the middle that does neither.

To Mod, or Not to Mod, that is the question. What will break at 500hp?

Stuff only breaks if you have traction. 500 isn't a big deal for OEM parts.

1968 New Yorker 4Dr HT: Headlights dim with blinker and brake use

It's normal for these 50 yrs old cars and systems that are corroding and rotting. Even 25yrs ago we had cars with the base alternator dim at idle at night. Check for resistance in the various circuits
