    New 69 Imperial

welcome and congrats on the buy! Good to see a fellow young person getting in to these c bodies. What color is your interior? I know a guy who has unfortunately stripped a number of these cars for derby. I have bought a ton of parts off of him over the last year for my 70 coupe. I know he still...

    1969 Imperial progress thread

Your build reminds me of a thread I followed on the first gen Cummins ram forums for years. Entitled "ultimate first gen crew cab build" he spared no expense took him a decade or so to build and the thoroughness of his work might only be surpassed by yours!! I agree with Zymurgy. Probably the...

    I found my imperial!!

She survived the car show. Only had a few issues. Power steering pump leaks. Gonna find a shop to get it rebuilt. And the carb needed a little tuning. Was able to meet the guy I bought the car from. His name is Allen. Took him for a ride and I believe it made his day! Got to chat with a couple...

    I found my imperial!!

Have done quite a bit in the last two days and took the car for it's first drive. Need to grab a few things today before I head over to mopars in the park!! Can't believe I'm going to make it. Had my old buddy don help me revive the old paint and I think it looks pretty presentable now!! See you...

    I found my imperial!!

Got the 440 going! cam broken in. All went well thankfully. Rear bowl on the carb leaks so I'm gonna steel the holley off my plymouth for this weekend. Also need to get a good set of plug wires and make them by hand. These cheap plug wires are just no good lol and the single exhaust is a bit...

    I found my imperial!!

Small update. Installed the driveshaft, hooked up the trans gear linkage, installed the front accessories. Didn't get to clean up the ac compressor like I wanted, but I anticipate the h53 probably won't work anyways and I'll just leave everything hooked up so I can drive the car for now. Also...

    I found my imperial!!

Got the engine/trans in today. Had plenty of help from my dad, sister, sister bf, my gf, and an old ironworker buddy if my dad's. Found out a regular cherry picker will not extend far enough to drop it all back in. Ended up using a chain fall from a doubled up truss in my garage. Dropped in...

    I found my imperial!!

She's ready to go back to her home tomorrow. Spent the evening cleaning up all the bolts and other hardware to get the engine/transmission together along with engine and transmission mount bolts. So glad I decided to rebuild the original engine/transmission for the car. I need to get a pic of...

    I found my imperial!!

Got my load of parts back from the sandblaster including the wheels which I painted black. All 4 with matching 10-1 date codes. And an odd ball spare. Same month as the car was born. Also finished up plumbing new gas lines from the tank forward. Transmission is showing up tomorrow and the engine...

    I found my imperial!!

Couldn't buy a new brake booster so I had it sent off to be rebuilt. Got that back along with a new master cylinder this week. New rear wheel cylinders installed along with all new lines throughout. Couldn't find a new proportioning valve or the front disc metering valve so I cleaned them up...

    I found my imperial!!

Got the front bumper with the center drivers side swapped out. Removed all the brake lines and components. Anyone have a source for new metering valve for the front disc brakes? Also couldn't buy a new brake booster so I dropped that off to be rebuilt today. Transmission also went off to my...

Had a guy from mora MN recore it. He ordered the core new from a place in michigan. Wasn't cheap but since everything else is gonna be new I figured why not.

    I found my imperial!!

Small update. The 440 is at the machine shop. Gonna be a couple week wait until he starts on it yet. The radiator is also being redone. A local shop quoted me $550 to recore it. Picked up a better set of rotors and some functioning calipers from the 71 I posted about earlier. Currently prepping...
