    TRW power steering pump

Just an update, I used a hammer and center punch to remove the seal. It is definitely in bad shape and brittle. Ordered a new seal today, so we'll see what happens.

    TRW power steering pump

I love the way mine runs. The steering is so easy. The bearing looks good but definitely seems to be leaking at that spot. When the bearing and the shaft is in my hands, you can feel the shaft is worn a bit when sliding on the bearing. I know there is some kind of o-ring/gasket in there...

    TRW power steering pump

I have a 68 Fury 3 with a 383 and TRW steering pump that likes to leak. I just rebuilt it by replacing the two o-rings that stop the unit from leaking but it’s leaking more now. I’ll try to rebuild it again today and replace all the orings. If that doesn’t work again, can I get a Federal style...

    New front wheel hub rubbing

Oh yea...you're right. I'll compare the good/original/other hub to the Wagner hub. But I will be comparing original hub to a after market one. Looks like I'll be buying another hub or drum. My mistake, I meant to say impact wrench not torque wrench. To crack/break the hub and drum, I'm...

JustCarbs, Thanks for the help. I like the idea of spinning one wheel to grind the other, but I'm dealing with the front wheels. Think I'm stuck with buying another 3inch drum and hoping for the best. I'll definitely check on their return policy before buying

The mark is the edge of plate where it turns into the drum. It rubs on the plate where it turns into the drum.

    New front wheel hub rubbing

Could the bearings, that came with the hub, be wrong? I had to install the bearings myself and they seem to fit fine. Not toooo easy to bang them in but they are snug.

    New front wheel hub rubbing

Any idea why the drum would rub against the backing plate with the 2nd hub but didn’t rub with the hub was on the car when I bought it? Both hubs had part number D70589. I can see wear marks on the backing plate and in brake drum. Any idea why the drum would rub against the backing plate with...

    New front wheel hub rubbing

It's the drums now. If I put the drum on finger tight, loosen the bolts about 1/16th and pull the drum back, it turns without rubbing/grinding on backing plate.
