Hey Derek - I ran had a tough time figuring out what I needed as well (manual drum/drum to a manual disc/drum). After buying and returning a couple MC's, I ended up calling Dr. Diff and he got me sorted out.

If you are stuck then I'd suggest getting it over to a shop to swap them out for you. If you are going the route of removing the LCA then there's a lot of other pieces you should consider changing out at the same time (ball joints, bushings, tie rods, etc).

It's a bushing at the junction of the sway bar and strut. I bought a sway bar bushing kit from RockAuto (MEVOTECH MK7061) and this didn't come with it. I can't find a name for it or where to pick up a new one. Any ideas?

Update: Re-bled the brakes today and topped off the MC and took it for a test drive. What a difference. I get a nice, light pedal travel, and can bring the car to a stop quicker. I didn't try to lock up the brakes or anything, but did a series of quick stops and long slow downs. I'm happy...

The wife just let me know the brake lights were on. Looks like the brake pedal doesn't quite sit where it used to and the pedal doesn't engage the switch any more. Need to figure that out next.

The new MC from Dr. Diff came in on Saturday and I bench bled it and installed this morning. Installation went fine and it bolted up nicely. I bled the brakes at all 4 tires but didn't realize I had the e-brake on. So I'll do that again tomorrow and give it a test drive.

Update: The rear cylinder on the powered disc/drum MC is a larger diameter than the rear cylinder on the manual drum/drum MC, so swapping out the rear piston is a no-go. I called Cass at Dr. Diff today and he helped me get sorted out. Glad I called, he was a great help. I'll update with...

Thank you Porlara, I am going to disassemble the Cardone Disc/Drum MC and see if I can swap out the rear piston with my original and see how that works. If all else fails all this gets returned and I'll call DrDiff. On a side note, I emailed Raybestos last night and got a reply this morning...

Correct, it's a non-power system. There's not a ton of info/specs on the different MC's that I can find. It's either a drum setup or disc/drum setup not much info about if it's intended for a power or non-power system. Ugh. And it sounds like I can't really move to a power system without...
