Which AC compressor. RV2 or Sandon on my 66 New Yorker

Classic Auto Air rebuilds the compressors. Find some R12, it's out there, swap meets, garage sales, ask all of your car buddies, older parents might have some on their back shelf. and the RV2.

Thank you very much! Which Autotemp would a 72 New Yorker have?

    Replacement underhood ATC module

Several years back, I found a company that made a replacement ATC module for our 70's Chryslers, they also made them for Mercedes. They were pricy but available. Anyone know who I'm talking about? They were machined from aluminum and were like 5-6 hundred dollars. I have the company in my...

Newer synthetic compressor oil compatibility with R12 Freon.

There is a YouTube video on how to take the rear head off of a Sanden and measure the oil and replace it along with a new head gasket.. I just picked four cans of R12 up at our big swap meet this last Sunday. $15.00 a can.

    Correct lower rad hose

In 73, they changed the water pump housing outlet to the passenger side. So anything listed for a 72 or earlier will not fit. A 74 hose would come closer to fitting. Your Gates 20958 should fit, if not try the Gates 20548, which is a 74 hose.

    Correct V belts 71 newport

The correct belts, for the 71 Newport are: from my old 1976 Goodyear application book, are AC and alternator-13591X2 the (matched set), PS is 13425, and the fan and idler is 13361. And that is part of the problem-the 13 belts are no longer available, so you have to use the 15 prefix belts. Most...

    Fan Belt Idler pulley replacement

These are for the narrow 13 series belt. I'm sure most of us have an extra pulley and bracket in our parts stash. Disassemble one, get the new pulley with the bolt you took out of another one. That way you don't have to take the bracket off of the motor and dribble anti-freeze all over.

    Fan Belt Idler pulley replacement

I was going to post this on here awhile back but I got it on FBBO instead. Well anyway: I have a cheaper alternative to replacing this fan idler pulley. The repro's are pretty high. Most of the AC cars used these till 1972 I think. Check yours out-it might be rougher than you think, needing...

    66 Monaco Wagon A/C Resurrection

Go back to R12! If you look around hard enough you can find some. Here in Nebraska, about every swap meet I see some. I used to buy it when I could afford it. I had a counter person in a new Napa store last year tell me that they had R12 to sell again. I've seen too many R134 conversions...

    Radiator Hoses-Which type is better?

For those of you that don't know-the springs in the lower hoses were only in there for ONE reason! To rapid vacuum fill on the assembly line! That's why the replacement hoses do not have them. AGAIN THE ONLY REASON!
