Oké, that's what I wanted to know. My Newport is smelling bad at idle and the fumes are killing my throat (behind the car, nót inside ) so mayby it's to rich... Now, sometimes you read that an engine is running to lean or to rich while going down the street. How can you adjust that ?

I've read many threads about adjusting carbs, timing etc etc.. Now I have a question about adjusting the idle mixture. I know the further the screws are out the richer, further in is leaner. Now, does this adjustment also effects the overall gas-milage ? Luigi

Replaced the idlerpulley at last. As posted before I ordered one from Mancini. First thing I noticed it wasn't a exact reproduction of the OEM one as you can see on the pics. The new one is a bit wider so the belt is deeper now. It works, only thing now is that the adjustment is almost at its...

I've seen the one on Mancini and it is indeed pricey. So I thought the one from RA is oke, thinking I could use the old bolt. Mmm, searching for a suitable bolt an option ? Are they available?

After some research I found out the idler pulley bearing is toast. Ordered a new one from RA and it came in today. New problem/question: I have to use the old bolt and nut cause the new pulley is without those. How do I get the old bolt out ? I thought it was a dustshield and I've tried to...

Took the returnhose off today, after I cleaned everything up. The ends of the hose were a little torn so I'm going to find a replacement ther next days. To be continued.

I won't say you're wrong about the hose that it is bad, but it still looks oké. I suspect the clamp, and going to replace it with a "screw-type". Yes I'm going to clean everything but let it drip for the night, it's everywhere pfff...
