The problem is solved !!! It's been a while since I had this "interference" problem. I left it for what it was and paid no attention to it anymore. Untill I changed the sparkplug wires as they were on the engine for as long I own the car (17 years..) And thát did the trick, no interference...

Download from My Mopar the FSM. ( '70) There are electrical overvieuws in it.

Old situation (with points) New situation ( Pertronix) That's it !

I also tried to connect the radio directly to the battery (+ and -) I assume I bypass the instrument panel VR that way or not ?

Update: Today I started with the tips & tricks given here. - Disconnected the fieldwires at the alternator: NO result - Pulled alle the fuses one by one: NO result - Connected an extra groundwire from the VR to the engine (on the coilbracket) NO interference !!! I was so surprised I started...

There are no springs under the buttons. Just flat contacts...

Can you please explain further on how to ? I'm open for all possible solutions...

I have that voltageregulator and is grounded well, have that bracket from radio to dash also...

Yes voltage regulator is stock. I only have converted to Pertronix

Installed a new radio from Retrosound. Everything works well until....I start the car. With the engine running I have a interference which I cannot figure out. There's a constant crackling sound in the speakers. Also with the volume on zero. Happens in all three speakers, 1 front dash en 2 in...

I was just wondering where the switch is located of the trunklight ? I see a wire from the harness going in in the left lower corner of the trunklid and coming out at the lightbulb. Talking about my 1971 Newport... Luigi
