    Find a wood worker, I'm sure they could make a great shift knob based off your old one. I have had custom thumb paddles made for my trombone (not a car I know) made for that and they look beautiful. It will be hand crafted and unlike anything you can buy in a catalogue.

    Why couldn't you take two inches out of the front springs? What about fabing up a air bag system? The air bag system will allow you to lower it when you want to, then raise it when needed. Thanks Eric
