    Front suspension rebuild?

I spent several hours looking over the different parts and suppliers to rebuild my original front suspension and have a question. I already decided to get the Firm Feel Stage 1 power steering box. Also decided on their upper control arms so I have more control over alignment. After that there is...

    New tire drive

I had new tires put on about two months ago but never got to try them out on a longer highway drive. Short hops around town told me nothing unusual. With me testing out suspension changes to the Park Lane that had my attention and use all of June. The new tires are the Kinergy ST WSW in...

    Front sway bar

I did a search on past posts looking for something on front sway bars but saw lots of rear bars or cars 1968 and earlier. I just removed the 5/8" front sway bar on my Park Lane and installed a 1 1/8" bar which has made quite a difference in the car leaning over during turns. So I wonder about...

    Caliper rebuild

Has anybody ever sent out their calipers for a rebuild instead of simply buying rebuilts from a parts store? The reason I ask is because the calipers on my 67 Park Lane are four piston Kelsey Hayes and those do not grow on trees for swapping as cores for a re-manufactured set.

    Power steering rack

Not seen on our cars but present on our newer cars. Has anybody ever resealed one of these things in the past? Curious about the difficulty level and how successful it was. I have one I am thinking of doing that to because the rebuilt rack leaks from one fitting in less than a few days. The one...

    Bumper jacks

I was out washing the Polara when a neighbor came home from work and walked across the street to me. He had a question that he thought I might know the answer to. Seems at work there was a early 30 year old worker who had never heard of a bumper jack or ever seen one. The question was when they...

Have you ever had this happen

I was outside starting to remove parts in order to replace a clutch. Put a 1 1/4" socket on a 3/4" drive and 18 inch extension. Then slid a 4 foot extension over that for more leverage. Pulled and pulled and guess what? The piece of metal on the extension that you attach the socket to sheared...

    Rebuilding steering gear

So today was the day to put in new upper ball joints, pitman arm, idler arm, and both inner and outer tie rod ends. Should be a relatively easy job since I have all the tools from previous jobs. Should be? First off when I pull out the socket for removing upper ball joints I see that it it too...
