    Power Assist vs. Power Brakes

    I recently heard that earlier (before mid 60's) mopars power brakes were referred to as power assist, and they had less brake feel than the later ones. The later ones, which were then referred to as power brakes were designed to be less touchy, and provide more feel. Has anyone else heard this?

    Power Brake Booster

    Whenever I step on the brakes, I hear what sounds like air hissing, and the idle picks up. But this only happens when I step on the brake. If the diaphragm in the booster was punctured, wouldn't it hiss at all times? The engine idles great and has great vacuum. It's a 63 413, so no emissions...
