Some eye candy, my friends original 1949 Chrysler New Yorker

Well I know it’s not a Cbody, but I thought I would share some pictures of my friend’s 1949 Chrysler New Yorker. He stooped over and we drove around, what a ride. There were 2 iterations of the New Yorker for 1949 with the new body style introduced in the second half of the model year. His is...

    2021 Carlisle photos

Interesting that there was no representation from Auburn Hills. There are usually a couple of trailers with Dodge and Mopar. Demonstrations, free t-shirts, key chains, temp tattoos. Ride along in the Hellcats and new models on display. Nothing this year.

    The cookie crumbles

I am feeling nostalgic today. Whenever my father took us to his brother’s house, which was quite often, we would pass the Nabisco factory on rt 208 N in Fair Lawn, NJ. My brother and I would roll down the windows so we could smell the cookies baking. The factory has been there for 63 years, my...

A bus at a cruise night

A friend of mine organized a get together of people we know to meet at a parking lot with their cars. We had 10 cars, a boat and..... a commercial bus. My friend Mike asked if there would be room for his bus. The organizer said yes and he brought his 1953 GM Coach, 4 speed. Absolutely gorgeous...

    Clever, or in poor taste

When I first read the article on Hagerty about bands that were named using automobile references, such as The Cars, The TBirds, etc, I thought this album with Chrysler in the name with the hands from Michelangelo's painting holding the Pentastar keys and the parody of the play Jesus Christ...

Found a little piece of Mopar at Corvettes at Carlisle

Spent another weekend at Carlisle with my brother-in-law. We were on a mission for parts for his '67 Corvette, which he finally took out of storage. He put it away August of 1973! We hope to have it on the road by next spring. We spent 3 days going through the swap meet and going to vendor's...

Found an old Polaroid of me with the Dodge Dart Seneca

I finally started going through boxes of loose pictures that were my Mom's. Back in the '60's important occasions always seemed to remembered with a photo by the car. I found this old Polaroid of me in a suit, dated May 1965, in front of our Dodge Dart Seneca.

    Some interesting sightings in Wyoming

When I arrived in Cody, this was my greetings! Across the street from the Holiday Inn on Sheridan Ave, a cruise night. Some new Mopars, and this beautiful Dodge Custom Royal and this MINT 1981 Dodge Ram 150. Although they get tons of snow there the guys there told me the cars don't rust because...

    FCA/Renault merger

Fiat-Chrysler announced a proposed merger today. I wonder what that will do to the Chrysler and Dodge brands. The merger would focus on autonomous and electric vehicles. The future is bleak for the pleasure of driving.

Family '67 Corvette will finally come back to life until this week

My wife's brother owns this 1967 Corvette since 1970(he was 18). He stopped driving it in 1973 when he bought a '69 Chevelle SS as his daily driver. Life got busy, marriage, kids , divorce (his ex tried to force him to sell it for half the value, the judge said no, he acquired it before her)...

List of ethanol free gas stations

with the spring driving season here I thought I would list this. Pure-gas.org is a site that lists ethanol-free gas stations and marinas in the USA and Canada that sell pure gasoline, no ethanol. Also be aware that the EPA is loosening restrictions , probably by June 1st to allow nationwide year...

Added a (modern) Dodge to my Mopar garage today.

Thought I'd share a photo of my modern Mopars, the Durango R/T in Redline is a '12 and I just picked up the '19 Charger Scat Pack in Granite with Ruby /black interior today. I thought the Durango could haul ***, this Charger is a rocket, I can only imagine what a Hellcat can do.

    "Chrysler" socks for my birthday

I really don't need any more big "stuff" at this stage of the game. The family knows how much I love these big old cars and my wife and son have given me all kinds of Chrysler, Dodge, Mopar shirts, hats, mugs. All of which I use. I am like a walking Chysler ad. Well my niece was going back to...

    Veteran's Day Thankyou

It is Veteran's Day. Thank you to all the veterans who served our country. I made sure the flag was up first thing this morning at 6 am. I live on a busy street and I hope it will be a reminder to those who forgot the importance of the day.

    C body makes the news.....

I have this newspaper sitting around for a while, I wasn't sure if I should post it. Thought it might be too boastful. But then I thought, what the hell, do it. I think it was cool the reporter decided to feature a C body out of all the cars that were there. On the front page and in the article...

Supported veterans today and was rewarded

Today I went to a local American Legion Post car show. All proceeds go to veteran's charities. The entrance fee, food sales and 50/50 all go to the charities. To my surprise I got the Best Mopar trophy. That's right guys, a C-body got best Mopar. Ahh some respect for the big ones.

Mopars at the Cleveland History Center

Spent the day at the Cleveland History Center and had a great time. The section I want to tell you about was the display of autos and aviation from the Frederick Crawford collection. He formed what became TRW out of a Cleveland scrap-metal shop. By 1957 he was the highest paid auto parts...

    All Hail the Hemi

Has anyone seen the All Hail the Hemi/426 Hemi Day/Dodge commercial? It shows a white Challenger with 426 on the hood of the car, on the dash, on the roadside markers, on a calendar. Like the vailed commercials for the Hellcat before it came out with 707 integrated into the commercial. Makes me...
