Adjusting the idle on 4 barrel 400 engine in my 1966 VIP (changed out of course)

I posted this question yesterday, but now I do not see the post anywhere , so I will re-post it. I posted a picture of the two idle screws and asked for advice on making adjustments. I was asked to post pics of both sides of the carb. One thing happened when I lifted up the air cleaner to get...

I have the 66 Plymouth VIP in the upholstery shop and I have a couple of questions.

    1. The passenger side rear window issue: the metal piece that the window sits in is bent toward the back of the window. This bend (looks like 1/2 to 3/4") takes the window out of alignment (see pic @ red mark). I have no idea how the previous owner bent it. My question: Does anyone have a...

66 Plymouth drivers side window came loose for the chrome trim

What should I use to re-attach the chrome trim to the window? I have two products. One is 3M molding tape, but I think that will be too thick a aguge. The other product I have is Super Weatherstrip Adhesive (Permatex). Any additional recommendations? see pics RSH1966ViP

66 Ply. vip heater leaking at the bottom of the heater box

Walked into the shop and found a puddle under the 66. Long story short, I found a leak coming from the bottom of the heater box. It is a good thing that I have all the carpet already stripped out. So, I have a couple of questions: 1. How do I bypass the heater by re-routing the heater hoses...

1966 Plymouth VIP with a 400 engine running hotter than I think it should. What could be the reason.

My 66 Plymouth VIP 283 was replaced by the previous owner with a 400. It is probably 1970-72?? but that not the point of the post. The point is this engine runs hot and I have had every thing replaced new. It has a 26 " new orginaial radiator etc. However it runs abut 200 degrees after about 10...

Question about a connection on my carb

I took off the air cleaner to clean it up and paint it. I noticed a connection (see my finger pointing to the connection). This short line was and is not connected to anything. I am thinking vacuum hose, but if so where should it connect? The car seems to run fine just as it is. Need some...

Removing front seat in 1966 VIP

Just a quick and probably dumb question. Are there 4 bolts holding down the front seat ? Are bolts just studs going through the floor. It appears there is not bolt head. I kept trying to get a socket on the bolt to find out, there was no bolt head. I was and am surprised. rsh1966vip

    1967 Chrysler Newport 383

The oil filter that I got from Orielly's today was a lot larger than the one on the car. I should have looked at it before I went to purchase the filter, but I did not. Here is the pic of the one on the car and the one that O'rielly's gave me. Back to the store. This is really a small filter and...

Removing dome light lens and tail light socket

I did a search on the subject, but did not find exactly what I needed. Here is my two questions: 1. Do I twist the dome light lens to get it off or do it prey it off. I sure would not like to break it. 2. To remove the tail light socket do I twist it clock wise. Again I want to do it the correct...

cbarge, the main conductor in the ammeter

cbarge, where do I find this "main conductor" that burns "open" on the ampmeter? Is it under the dash. Send a pic if possible. By the way we lived in Napanne for two years working for Goodyear. I would have sent this as a private message, but I cannot figure out how to do it. thanks rsh1966vip

    1967 Chrysler Newport

I bought this one today. It has 46,000 one owner miles and zero rust. The interior is in excellent condition. It has a 383 engine. The first thing I need to correct is the passenger side E-brake is stuck. I am guessing the first thing I should do is pull off the tire and hub to see what's going...

Advice on 66' Plymouth VIP radiator after market

I need a new radiator for my 1966 Plymouth VIP (which I guess is just like a Fury). I have bought a Champion radiator for my 66' F100 and it worked. However, the 66' Plymouth has an automatic transmission that will need to connect up, so it is a little more complicated. Has anyone on the forum...

Decode door vin#, and fender tags

I just completed a 1966 F100 short wheel base (frame off...won't do that again). For my next project I wanted a Mopar. So, a 1966 Plymouth came up on Craig's list about 30 miles from me and I bought it. I know zero about Mopar's and it turns out this is a "C" body and very hard to find parts for...
