Post-Carlisle Road Hazard vs Penny the 72 Imperial

So driving up US322 near Lewistown a huge metal chair was in the right lane. I dodged a direct hit but I could not move over with the impatient PA drivers blocking the left lane. I’m disappointed that I hit the chair but glad I was not in a modern car, any modern car would have been disabled...

    My neighbor ruined my plans

So as Carlisle draws near I am yet again thwarted by outside forces. So as I am rearranging the cars so I can get the Imperial to the garage my neighbor backs up into the car. He said he was going slow. Sure…. No insurance and expired registration, driving his mom’s Chevy HD 4500. The rear door...

    If you could have

If you could have ordered any Imperial and spec’s it out your way what would you have ordered? I would have gone for a 1972 in black with a gold vinyl top, gold leather interior. It would be a sunroof car with Auto-Temp dual air conditioning, safeguard sentinel and auto dimming headlamps, would...

    72-73 Imperial Restoration and Information

I’m trying to do my research on 72-73 Imperials before I even turn one wrench on disassembly. I want to compile information about these cars and build details similar to what is done for say Chargers, Superbirds, etc like a concourse restoration guide. I’m requesting all kinds of pictures of...

    My new 1973 Imperial

So I did the “Fix it the right way” thread as a joke but seriously this is the new Imperial. It is a great car with factory trailer towing, and power everything. It was an ordered car. I will post more as time goes on. I plan to show my 1973 Imperial at the Volo C-Body show in Volo, IL this...

    I’m Impressed- Fuel Economy

So today I drove my new to me 1973 Imperial back from Wisconsin, it was a 190 mile trip for the car. It was amazing to drive but when I stopped to fill up, I was shocked. 14.59mpg on the highway from a 5000lb car and going 70-75mph the whole way.

    Fix it the right way!

So since my 72 Imperial blew up after 40 miles of driving after I got it running. I decided that it needs to have the engine come out and be rebuilt. Because it needs to be done and will be expensive, I went out and did the right thing and just bought another Imperial. I have decided to...

    Calling 72/73 Imperial Owners!!!!

I’m taking some inspiration from some other threads I have read. Post pics and/or stories about your ‘72/‘73 Imperial or anything ‘72/‘73 Imperial related. Let’s see your cars! Not the for sale tracker, this is if you actually own the car.

    The bug has bitten me!

After buying one Imperial I can truly appreciate how amazing they are. The bug has bitten me and I now have the urge to round up a fleet of them. As always I love the 1972-73 body style.

In search of a quality car cover

I am looking for a quality car cover for outdoor storage that will fit 72-73 Imperials. I know there are some nice car covers out there, money is no issue for me. Finding something big enough is. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

    72 Imperial Beer

I’m not sure how many are aware that Breckinridge Brewery makes and sells a 72 Imperial Chocolate Stout. I’ve tried it before, personally Im not a fan, but I just think it’s cool to own the car on the box.

    I finally got one!

I finally bought a 1972 Imperial in Ohio. I will be bringing it home on Saturday. The plan is to rebuild the 440 and TorqueFlite, then make the outside presentable. It will be for special family occasions and outings. I can’t wait to get everything going with it. It will be fun.

    Getting an Imperial Home

I am wondering how to tow an Imperial on a trailer. An Imperial is 5100 lbs, so what kind of trailer, as far as size goes? It seems the standard double axle trailer like u-haul offers is too small. Thanks in advance.
