Just an unsolicited update on a longer project - the Windsor to 300 clone project.
Trying to keep it 'in the family' Mopar family that is, my next stunt is to try to add in 12V alternator and PS pump.
Originally the car came with a 6V system, a combination 6V generator and power steering pump...
Hello Fellow Forward Lookers,
I'm hoping someone can share the knowledge if they have it.
I've been mincing along on my Windsor-300 clone project for about 5 years now.
It was someone else's abandoned resto project that came in pieces.
The only bumper frame bolt that wasn't blue-wrenched off is...
Hello Fellow Chrysler enthusiasts,
I have a working 6V (positive I think) generator and power steering pump combo unit, and am looking for help on rebuilding it into a 12V unit, or better yet sending it to a shop that specializes in this.
Any help or advice is appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
Hello folks,
Does anyone have a good source for tie rods ends for a 1955 Chrysler?
Checked Kanter, Andy Bern Baum, and a few others. No luck.
thanks,
Mike
Hello,
I'm looking for under side of the car photos front and back for a 1955 Chrysler 300.
Around the front & rear suspension specifically, but other details like exhaust would be appreciated as well.
Please and thanks,
Mike
Hello Mopar fans,
First visit on the rear end of the 55 Windsor/300 project.
I understand most were 8 1/4 rear ends, but unsure of myself here,
as it resembles the 8 3/4 a bit, and does not match the google results for 8 1/4 rear end.
Thanks,
Mike
Hello Mopar fans,
Attached are pictures of the aftermarket carbs that were on the subject 55 chrysler motor, 331, as received. Can anyone identify the model?
Any tips to watch our for in the Stromberg arena, as I consider whether to use them or go the stock route. Never used them before...
Hello Fellow mopar Forward Look enthusiasts.
We have a 55 windsor that has 14" wheels (fairly certain) \, & am intending to upgrade to 15" rims as well as discs in the front. Admitted it is a not so clone like upgrade, but I'd rather have better brakes than original.
Thinking something like...
Hello Fellow Forward Look Enthusiasts,
I'm looking for a pair of 12V heater/circulation motors, 1 inside the cabin and 1 on the engine side of the fire wall that will fit a 55 Windsor.
Still working on a clone project and in the process converting to 12V, while it is in pieces.
Thank you in...
Making a clone, could use new or used emblems front and back, even aftermarket if they exist would be ok.
Also the exterior top trim above the windshield wold be great as well.
Please & thanks,
Mike
Hello Fellow Chrysler Enthusiasts,
My forward look project is making a 300 clone out of a 55 windsor. I would like to go to a 12V system. Other than changing the battery & all the light bulbs and such, any advice on what else has to swap? My current generator is a 6V, with my power steering...

Hello,
I'm intending to install a 4sp onto my 1955 G1 331 and that drive train into a 1955 Windsor.
I'm curious if anyone has attempted a similar stunt, and if they have any recommendations.
Planning to use a slave piston to mitigate a manual clutch, and there are options regarding bell...
Hello,
I'm looking (forward) to find the wider collector cast iron headers for my 331 project motor.
The stock ones have what looks like a 2" collector.
Pretty sure the 4 bolt are more desirable, and have a wider collector (3" or so I am told).
Trying to fit with my 1955 - 300 clone project...
Hello Fellow Forward Lookers,
Trying to find reproduction seat covers for a 55 Chrysler 300 (cloned from Windsor).
Best price I can find is $4,500., for just the covers. They don't have to be leather, vinyl would be fine. Does anyone have any other sources for le$$ dough?
Thanks,
Mike
Hello Mopar Enthusiasts,
I'm curious if anyone has access to a 55 Chrysler 300, and if so, if you can take/send me some undercarriage pictures of the front and rear suspension.
Many thanks,
Mike
Hey There Mopar family,
I'm cloning a 55 Windsor into a 300. The mill I found is a 55' 331 Chrysler apparently hot rodded back in the day with guad 2 bl carbs , and other items. 1 being what looks like an old ford tranny, 3spd with Over Drive. (That's my best guess at what it is anyway)...
