1966 Chrysler Newport

General Information

This is my '66 Newport. It's been in the family since March 2001. Originally came from Arkansas, then to Minnesota when my parents bought it. Now it's with me in Arizona. I love driving this car and seeing all the people look and compliment me on it. We didn't have to do a whole lot to it when we got it...............we did replace the carpet, had the seats sewn back together, gas tank drained and re-coated, carb rebuilt, replace the leaf springs and some other very minor stuff. Other that that, what you see is what we got. Had numerous offers to buy it but can't let it go.................i'm having too much fun with it. Enjoy.....

Is that up on south mtn park ??? How'd that dude do bobsledding down that giant hill?!? Love the color all those space race bronze, golds and atomic greens are my favorite.

Yes it is South Mountain. It actually did really well coming down. I was a bit nervous coming back down as I had replaced the brake booster and master cylinder not too long before the drive up.................but my baby didn't let me down at all.

Very nice! Even though they made 25,000 Newport 4 door hardtops in 1966, you just don't see many of them around anymore.

That side view photo tells me I am doing the right thing by replacing the leaf springs. There appears to be a solid 3+ inch lift there compared to where mine sits right now. That is a gorgeous car my friend!!

Thank you very much!! When my parents first got the car, the leaf springs were shot so the rear sagged way low. We were lucky enough to find the pair we have in it now. Once we put them in...........what a HUGE difference it made.......as you can see.
