Chrysler 1969 Chrysler 300 Convertible - Part One

My first US car... Bought in 2002 in California, after it had endured an engine fire. It was in danger of being scrapped, so I thought I'd do the right thing. This is the car, that starred in the "Polish adventure" somewhere here on FCBO.

General Information

These first pictures, are from when the car arrived after a long journey, and was completely unable to do anything, except look amazing... However, it looked a lot better than is was. Rusty floors, trunk floor more "missing" than rusty.. Electrically DISASTER, engine had half-*** overhaul, wouldn't turn over, had a severely bent push rod, and the cam was completely shot. Both heads had some dead valves, but.. pistons were new and high quality, and the cylinders bored .30 over, nicely done.. and nice balanced steel crank.. go figure.. :)

Will post more galleries as the work progressed..

Here is arrived.. It was love at first sight !

These ext pic's, are from AFTER I got it running after the fire, and right before it left for "the Polish restoration-adventure".. Please note, that the "A/B-style rallye wheels" where on the car when it arrived, so let's not get into that.. ;-)

Where is that car from? I remember looking at one very similar here in Texas years ago - probably not that nice. I don't remember any fire damage, though.

Sorry for the late reply.. I missed your question completely! I bought it in 2002, from a guy in California.. I don't remember how I got in contact with him, and after the sale, he "disappeared". I did everything wrong with that purchase.. right down to paying through Western Union, ha ha.. But it still arrived... I am pretty sure it would have ended it's days as a parts car iback home, in the US..

PS: The car came with "local history".. must have been another car you saw! ;-)
