1970 Imperial Lebaron 2dht Finland

Restoration

General Information

I bought the car from US and now it's in Finland in a Restoration Shop called Autobaja. The body was very rusty and is now being fully restored. Managed to get less rusty fenders and other stuff, but my welder is doing tons of work with the floors, trunk etc. Engine is pretty much done. Decided to go for EFI system, new cam, pistons and valves. Tranny is fully checked. Also, changed new brakes (wilwood) for front and rear. All powder coated and painted. Looks like that this project is not ready for this summer, but 2022 for sure. Will post more pics when restoration goes forward.

Latest updates

Hey all, Imperial 1970 LeBaron is now inspected, registered and ready to eat miles in Finland. Still some challenges with EFI system, but hopefully they are solved during next week. Happy and sunny summer for all of you.

Stunning, I’m happy for you this she’s back on the road after all of your hard work. I am curious though. I think I see an Edelbrock Profli 4 system with an external fuel pump/sump. I’m strongly considering there for my 77 NYB. Would like to know your experience with that system.

Hey, it is a good choice. This package came together with a tablet and Edelbrock app, where you can basically adjust and monitor via Bluetooth the whole system. Set up is easy, just manually adjust your timing and then let the software do the rest. It has a self-learning mode, with 3 different levels (slow-medium-fast) and it is recommended to to use first the fast and after mixed driving the medium and then slow. Preinstalled fuel maps works good, but you can also trim them yourselves if needed. Fuel economy is better than with carburator (15-20%) less fuel.

Interior upgrade: Now I got bucket seats and back seat done with black leather and red seams. Big thanks to Lance who sold me the bucket seats. I decided to go for more new style instead the original. Also, ergonomics are now better for longer journeys.

Paint is done. Just received pictures from the workshop that painting is done Deep, shiny black. Next starts the critical phase for putting all pieces back to together. This Imperial will rule the roads next summer for sure.

Looking really good; lots of effort and $$$ pumped into this project. It looks like you wil not be re-installing a vinyl top, am I correct?

Wow what a transformation.. could you share the Willwood brake upgrade information with us / me. I’m considering this for my 77 New Yorker. Appreciate it.

Hey, sure. They were easy to install to rear, just bolt-on nothing extra needed and they look awesome. For the front, I presume it's the same, eezy peezy. For my Imperial the front kit was not available and surprisingly the 300 same year Chrysler set did not fit, so I am using the original disc breaks for the time being. Wilwood is 4-piston breaks so enough breaking power is expected. If you need more data, ping my email jari.angesleva@gmail.com
