My Step-father's Plymouth Fury Collection

The photos here are of my step-dads Plymouth C-bodies. The years are 1967, 1968, and 1970. Please like or comment if you desire.

General Information

This is a list of my step-father's cars. My step-dad "specializes" in the 1967, 1968, and 1970 Plymouth Fury. He got into the Furies because his father had a "left-over" '67 Fury II. He opened the '68 Fury brochure and saw the '68 Sport Fury Fast-top and said "I want that". He has, as follows starting with 1967.....

1967 (Fury II)- 6 passenger wagon. Currently a 318 2bbl with 90% original paint, plan is to put a 440 in and put a trailer towing package on someday. Transformed interior into Fury III/Sport Fury, see thread here. New '67 Fury II Station Wagon Interior. Original ordered car (code u1 on fender tag). Built December 13th 1966, at the Belvidere IL assembly plant. Exterior color- SS1 Soft Yellow. Bought in 2003.

Turquoise 2-door post, 440 stroked Big Block nicknamed "The Problem Child". Originally a slant 6 (B on fender tag.) (Will Get More Photos.) Exterior color- KK1 Light Turquoise Poly. Purchase date unknown.

1967 (Fury III)- Turquoise 4-door hardtop 318 4bbl Small Block (Driven across country to Frankenmauth M.I. for Frankenmauth AutoFest 2019). Built at the Newark, DE assembly plant on January 9th, 1967. (109 on fender tag.) Exterior color- BK2 Light Turquoise Poly. Purchase date unknown. Went to Carlisle 2021

4-door sedan 383 4bbl Big Block. The 2nd ever C-body my stepfather got, got in about 1982 for free. It was a farm field rescue. Originally white with a 318 2bbl, and from Virginia. Built on September 14th, 1966 (914 on fender tag) at the Newark, DE assembly plant. Nicknamed, "The Bear". (Went To Carlisle 2014 & Carlisle 2020). 1967 (Sport Fury)- Convertible "H" code 383 4bbl Super Commando Big Block. Auto, and originally SS-1 Soft Yellow with black interior and black top. Tilt-a-scope steering as well. Built November 10th, 1966 (B10 on tag) at the Belvidere, IL assembly plant. Bought in 2003. Now restored! (Carlisle 2025 Building Candidate??.)

1967 (VIP)- Former 4-door hardtop 383 2bbl Big Block, originally black top. Built on October 28th 1966 (A28 on tag), at the Newark DE assembly plant. Exterior color- CC1 Medium Blue Poly. Purchase date about 1987. SOLD SOLD SOLD!

2-door Fast-top 383 2bbl Big Block with a black vinyl top, black interior, and air conditioning VIP. Exterior color- LL1 Dark Turquoise Poly. Purchase date 11/21/2021. Now on the road in April 2024.

1968 (Sport Fury)- Fast-top. 318 2bbl Small Block. The very 1st C-body my stepfather ever bought, bought in 1980 while still in high school. Built at the Newark, DE assembly plant. Exterior color- QQ1 Electric Blue Poly. Featured in Jon Lorenson's Chrysler/Dodge/Jeep dealership in Old Saybrook CT in 2009, Featured on "My Car Story" with Lou Costabile in July 2019. Featured in “Building T” in Carlisle 2023 for “high school Mopar display”. (Went To Carlisle 2019, WENT TO CARLISLE 2023 FOR HIGH SCHOOL MOPAR BUILDING DISPLAY)

1970 (Fury III)- Nicknamed "The Great Pumpkin", 318 powered 4-door hardtop originally bought from Blackstone Valley Chrysler/Plymouth in Lincoln R.I. by Mr. Lavecchia. Built June 6th 1970 at the Newark, DE plant it is a “Built To Spec For” car, and is also a “Lease Bid Sale” car. Exterior color- FK3 Burnt Orange. (Went to Carlisle 2022 in the survivor tent)

(Sport Fury S/23)- Real S/23, Not A Clone!. Fender tag decoded by Galen Govier in 1998. "N" code 383 4bbl Super Commando Big Block. Scheduled production date of October 15th, 1969. Car is 1 of 2 known to exist from the Newark, DE plant. Options include- Hi-Po, air conditioning, bucket seats with console, and wood-grain steering wheel. Featured in- High Performance Mopar magazine in July 1992. Received- Galen Top 10 Award in 1997, Presidents Pick Award in 1998, Favorite 50 Plaque in 2007, Favorite Mopar in 2021. This is the 3rd ever C-body my stepfather ever bought, bought in about 1983 for only $500 because the reverse band was broke. Freshly restored in 2022. Exterior color- DY2 Sunfire Yellow. (Went To Carlisle In 2016 For The C-body Celebration, Went To Carlisle 2023,) (Carlisle 2025 building candidate??.)


1973 Fury- FORMER Custom Suburban 6 passenger wagon. 360 small block with added 4bbl. Options Included- Air conditioning, Cruise control, Tilt steering wheel with rimblow horn, Brougham package interior. My stepfather bought it in 1996. Exterior color- HL4 Sahara Beige. (Went To Carlisle 2017, Went To Carlisle 2022) (FOR SALE AS OF MARCH 11TH, 2024 ON BRINGATRAILER, NO TRADES….. LINK HERE, 27-Years-Owned 1973 Plymouth Fury Custom Suburban. UPDATE:

Our ‘67 Fury III purple sedan known as The Bear is still for sale, although we may have a buyer from Hemmings. I will keep everyone updated. The ‘67 wagon has not been driven all year, it has been in storage. The old tired 318 2bbl will likely be swapped out for a 440 this coming winter, I will also keep everyone updated.
