1 wire alt

ccasion14:Anyone know how much of a pain it is to switch to a 1 wire alternator? I would like to get rid of the voltage reg that's bolted to my firewall and my alternator is huge and very ugly.

IMHO, the GM alternator used is even uglier and looks very out of place on a Mopar.

Can't be hard if gm guys can do it. Get a nippondenso if you want smaller and buy a chrome vr.

Wiring is a no brainer. Once you mount the alternator, all you do is connect the battery wire and leave off anything else.
(I have mounted a few on some John Deere tractors.)

Chrysler pretty much invented the alternator... I would be pretty hard pressed to switch it out. IMHO
