I noted this fine speciman this morning for sale on Ebay. A very stunning, original automobile in my opinion:

1958 DeSoto Fireflite Sportsmen Fireflite Sportsman Coupe | eBay

Given how the interior looks with its matching seat material also properly on the door panels, its fabic has a faded look and a bit rumpled (the fabrics back in the day were pretty low durability) and everything else about the car, I believe the original 30K miles claim. It has been a long time since I have seen one of these cars in such original, very nice condition and now in Florida no less! Bidding now at $25K with 5 days to go - not a bad starting price either. It will be interesting to see where this one ends up. 1958 was my favorite year for the Forward Look Desotos. Such incredible cars back in those days.

Fireflight was one notch below the top of the line Adventurer.
If I remember right the sportsman referred to the 2dr hdtp model.

58's are my fave of this look as well. Hard to not like this one, not in the stereotype "re-sale red" like so many of them either.

It went surprisingly cheap - someone got a very good deal!

There is always a bunch of very nice DeSoto's at Carlisle. I always make sure I walk the Forward Look line at Carlisle. Never disappointing!

Nice looking car, great price as well. Just an overall beautiful, low production designed car that for sure will only increase in value and demand

Hadn’t Chrysler resolved most of the early rusting problems that plagued a lot of their 1957 models by 1958 so that the latter year models were much less prone to rusting?
