I just burst out laughing at this one...must be shell shock after all the carnage this morning.

LOL! You couldn't even get half that much if you crushed it.

Maybe you could turn it into a 57 Chevrolet with all that repro sheetmetal available.

You'd be the talk of the town, I guess. AGAIN

Florida state law..........you'll have to put some front fenders on it and have working headlights for night lights to light up your yard.

This original 57 Fury happens to reside on a lawn in Bavaria; it's now in two pieces as it collapsed after it was moved from the scrapyard.

I'm surprised they allowed that with the strict environmental laws in Germany.

It's just the remains of the body with everything else removed including the superrare 240 km/h speedometer and it is in the backyard as I remember correctly.

yes, the 57 sat in a closed salvage yard in switzerland for more than 40 years. It was rustet into pieces. Current owner bought the remains in 2009 when the yard was cleaned.

You are not allowed to have junk cars on private property sit outside

I remember there was something about that posted on this site, or was it somewhere else?

I don't remember but it was really sad. The yard was closed in 1975. Of course it didn't match any rules regarding environment. It was closed and quiet. Due to the climate the cars were really rustet in pieces. The official government made him clear it even though it was considerd being art. So finally the cars got auctioned off.

All of this is nothing unusual for you in the US but as we have always been more regulatet this yard was kinda like heaven for us. I visitet it, too.

He had about 150 american cars inside, all of them were sold new in switzerland back in the day

We use to go to GM/Chevrolet dealer in Zurich for parts if we didn't want to wait to get parts shipped from the "World" (U.S.)!!!

I mentioned this car before a couple months ago. The funny thing was, this 57 Fury at some point got a 58 front clip that still has remains of the leather straps and additional bright lights that most likely came from this car that was used in the Swiss and German border area up to about 1960 in hillclimb/touring car competion by the Swiss touring car champion in the class over 3 litres displacement.
