Wyoming, Michigan. Yes, but most cars to Oz were sent as partially-assembled cars, where the final assembly was accomplished in Australia to satisfy the government there. These were called PKD, or partial knock-down, cars. They were already set up for RHD before leaving the US (or Canada).
No. I've encountered a '69 Barracuda 318 auto fastback that was a RHD car I nearly bought in England in 1990. It was a Lynch Road car, IIRC. Also, around that time, I looked at a '68 Fury two-door hardtop, also RHD, that was not a Wyoming-buiilt car.
I haven't ever heard of a desoto being sold in australia in RHD form by Chrysler Australia. They did sell Dodges in that year. Its a first for me. It may have been to some other RHD country? South Africa?
HI Guys. Car that came to NZ new.
all U.S. based Chrysler car as far as I know all come from Canada or were changed in Canada to right hand drive.
I had a 1935 Chrysler Airstream that was right hand drive 1 of 12 imported to NZ.
Mopar form the 30s - 70s come to NZ as right hand drive not many in the later years 60s,70s as aussie car took over the demand
the car were a bit of a mesh match in body types. Plymouth backs and Chrysler dodge Desoto fronts. even dodge backs and Chrysler fronts. even total Plymouths rebadge Chryslers. I think these car came in as parts and put together here.
Or you also could buy whole car witch bodies were standard like my Airstream I had. Not many car like that here as the cost a lot more for importing a whole car
US also had RHD until around the mid teens I think. It also made sense in the older times. Switzerland had RHD but also driving on the right side for trucks up to the 60s due to the many small unsecured mountain roads.
