I am not fancy on 1960 Imperials but I love the colour exspecially if it matches the inside, too.

This one is for sale in sweden now

That is a nice Imperial. It looks like the asking price is some $46,000, which seems in the ballpark if the car is as nice as it looks. Does the listing say much about how well it operates or whether it has any problems? Or how many miles show on the odometer? I am wondering whether it has swivel seats or not, but it is a top of the line Crown model. I would like it more if it had a/c though. Thanks for sharing Carsten.

sorry Steve, the ad gives no information about your questions.

I used google translator (I don't speak swedish):
The result is current owner has it since 13 years and doesn't have much time to drive it. That is why it is dusty, too (yeah, no hose in the picture). Ad says original unrestored interieur. Looking at it it seems to be a bench so no swivel seats.
Power windows, power seats. Says call only if you are seriously interested.

At first when I tried, the google translator didn't work, but the second time it did. Thanks! You are correct, as a swivel seat would have a fold down center arm rest, which this car does not have as you say.

Yeah, no hose but battery charger cables though. One thing I notice and that is it seems to be a universal tendency to list a nice car for sale, put up pictures, but not clean the car off or vacuum the carpet. Is blocket the Swedish version of Craigslist...?

What is the knob poking out to the right side of the steering column?

It is the autopilot or cruise control knob. Those cars used the old Perfect Circle electro-mechanical unit. As you might expect, it was an option that didn't appear on many cars in the day. Chrysler was the first vehicle manufacturer to adopt it as an option in its cars starting in 1958. It was a product of the Dana Corporation, and actually worked pretty well. I only have one car that is equipped with it, a 1962 Chrysler 300H.

yes, blocket is kind of like craigslist.
But it does cost money to advertise (at least cars).
But you can also search for jobs etc.
You can search locally and nationwide.

We all wish craigslist would work like that

A little correction, my friend... He says he will sell the car inspected. Lisence plates are just covered in the photos, not taken off. So just the inspection is needed, not registration.

Very nice Imp, I have always loved the front end of these 60's.

Hey Furyfinn :)

As unclear as this Swedish seller is, I don't believe there is an exact translation, but I fail to see in which part of "skall självklart bes innan försäljning" the seller claims, that he will undertake the task of the inspection before sale? The word "självklart" does contain "själv", which means "self", but "självklart" means "obviously", so I fail to see any reference to him inspecting it.

If he did intend to have it inspected himself, he would probably have written "vil självklart besikta bilen innan försäljning".

But you're probably spot on regarding the registration part.. he writes "
för tillfället obesiktigad".. which can only be translated to "currently not inspected".. (or actually "passed the expiration of last safety inspection").

I didn't see the blurred plates, and in Denmark, you are obligated to hand in your license plates as soon as you cancel the insurance... and you need to renew the registration, and get new license plates when you "re-register" the car.

But again, this description is no masterpiece in the art of writing.. just little fragments of text, with no punctuation, apart from three ".´s"

:-D

Should be the Autopilot Option according to the owner's Manual (copy from the Oldcarmanualproject)

Actually, he was a bit more elaborate:

"need no more new phone-buddies - have enough - call only is you're really interested"

:)

You could be right, Dude! However, innan means before, so... Who else could inspect the car before selling than the seller himself?

Anyway, I believe you or I could do much better ad in svenska than this seller. :yaayy:

Ha ha, yeah.. I'll settle for "could be right", coz this dude really leaves a lot open for the imagination.. :)

I also found the "innan" confusing, but went for the simple translation.. and I'm pretty sure, that a real Swede wouldn't get us much closer.

Cool car though.. Love the "face", the color and the interior.. but the price is crazy, even compared to Danish prices. I think the prices in Sweden is going up, and I also hear about more cars sold from here to Sweden, (DESPITE the maniac registration tax we got here).
