From the ad.
1960 Dodge Polara - $67500 (Tiffin, Iowa)

Powder coated frame, all new paint, (not factory colors, but better), close-to-correct all new interior (correct fabric), power steering and brakes, disc up front, New starter, solenoid, battery, fuel pump, carburetor, and oversized aluminum radiator, Vintage ac/heat combo, updated gauges (in glove box compartment), sparkle steering wheel, correct mopar spoked wheels, radial tires, halogen headlights, all new suspension and steering components, carpeted trunk, approx. 4,500 miles on its 1960 318 engine with a fully rebuilt 3-speed torqueflite tranny. Note: This car's original, matching numbers 383 is included. It was removed by the previous owner to be rebuilt before the car was finished. However, this same-block 318 2-bbl engine is so sweet we won't be putting the 383 back in ourselves. All new brakes, shocks, and exhaust. Price is firm. This is an extremely rare car and was in excellent condition when restoration was begun. Has won several first place trophies. We will also throw in the dual quad (cross-ram) intake and exhaust set up that was offered on the D-500 version of this super rare car.

Beautiful car. To many liberty's taken with originality to justify the price. Wrong....... paint, interior, engine and much of the detailing.
Good luck.

Normally I would agree with you Will. Its just that these are so rare and sought after and at least this one is done to a fairly high standard, although not all original. I would not say that it could not meet that price to the right guy

Maybe, but what a shame to spend that kind of effort and coin, then come up just a bit short. How many cars don't sell because they are "too original"? Should we presume the OEM gauges are defunct, so we must rely on the set in the glovebox?

it looks nice but after checking the pics: It has too much wrong for me to be really excited

Too much wrong for that money. With the liberties comes my questioning of the workmanship. Most correct restos with hard to find parts are not slapped on a cover it up, paint it up car.
A poly is not the same as a B block a simple Google search will answer that, raising more questions and lowering $ amount.

Cool car but for that kind of asking money it needs to be done exactly to originality in my opinion.

The more I look at the car, I find myself more inclined to agree with Will and others after all about the price being high given the liberties taken and the fact that the original powertrain still needs to be installed and probably rebuilt and made to look good too. The wild card is that this particular model of car is so rare and sought after still, it is hard to know who might want it more than they should $$ wise. It is "out there" even more than a 300F it seems to me.

Bang on. You stole my thunder.

Actually, this is the car I should have probably gone for a year or two ago when it was available for $12,500. It needed finishing, but still well worth it. Here is the car and the text that went with it then in the listing............................

1960 Dodge Polara
1960 Polara 2-Door
Original color Spruce Green Poly. Complete restoration of interior & exterior. Interior restored with SMS Fabrics original material.
The Polara still needs finishing - Original 383 is rebuilt & needs to be installed along with the rebuilt Automatic transmission. I have most all the parts that needs to be installed on the car. Some small pieces of chrome still needs to be redone & other items.
Please call me on my cell for a list of items that need work and need finished.
I have owned the car for about 10 years & quite frankly have lost interest.

that was cheap and well worth it.
Didn't sound like it needed that much.
