Nice looking car, but the underhood isn't detailed well enough for that kind of price, and no mention is made of how well the accessories work, which means that most probably don't, such as auto pilot or a/c for example. Nearly new vinyl seats? Original ones should have been leather and cloth, so it makes me wonder if they are implying the seats were redone or not, and if they were, that and the engine compartment suggests much higher mileage. The wide whitewalls are incorrect for 1962, as that was the first year for the small whitewalls that were originall dual stripes I believe. Showing the Imperial eagle on the hood ornament in the final photo suggests some of the diecast may be pretty pitted, and chrome work isn't cheap. I really don't trust dealers and thier prices are usually ridiculous, such as the price of this one.

One thing I've noticed over the years... Whenever a seller does the Wikipedia write-up in their ad.... "Gird your loins" 'cause the price is gonna be doozy!

I cannot confirm if the mileage is correct, but if this is an unrestored, 17,000 mile 53 year-old car, then it would be expected that the engine bay would not be perfect and that it would have a few other flaws, naturally.

I notice a 1961 only alternator instead of the correct 1962 version, and a fuel filter mounted above the exhaust manifold. It seems when they replaced the alternator, they could have easily accessed the fuel filter. Not sure why the alternator would be changed in just 17K miles? Otherwise, maybe you are right. I would like to know what he meant by "the vinyl upholstery is nearly new - if he replaced the original leather, then that raises the question as to why was that needed in only 17K miles?

In any case, 61K is too much for a '62 LeBaron, regardless of mileage.

The car is listed as having 70k miles, where do the 17k come from ?

You must have eyesight like an eagle, I can't make that number out. The apparent low mileage is the selling point of the car and yet there's no close-up shot of the odometer.

It reads 'with under 17000 miles...', in the ad itself.

I think in this case they have a typo meaning under 71k. mls, there is a pic of the odometer if you go through the Gallery showing the mileage.
They also Show it in the vehicle Basics:

Odometer Reading70452

And they want 61K?, I'm no expert when it comes to values, but 20-25K seems more appropriate for this car.

I can't even find those vehicle basics Klause. The ad states under 17K and states an odometer reading of 16,298 in the body of the ad. Regardless, waaaayyyyy overpriced!

Ah, okay. There's two cars listed, I was referring to the one at 54k, not the one for 61k.

Nice but $61,000? I don't think it would even sell for that much at B-J....

It's stunning with that gray interior.

62 Imperials are not very desirable for most collectors that I am aware of. They much prefer the 60 and 61 models that were more wild looking. I believe the price is ludicrous. No one really has to have one that bad.

All comments I agree with 100%
