I recently picked up a 1959 Plymouth Savoy, no engine or Trans. It was a V8 car with push button automatic trans, I have a 64 Dodge 880 with a 361 and pushbutton automatic trans that I’d like to swap into the 59. Does anyone know if this is direct bolt up? I know they’re both “C” bodies but I don’t know how much difference it was in the five years, so I’m trying to do some research before I get knee-deep into this project. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

I recently put a 1965 361 with a push button 727 into a 1957 Dodge Royal. From what info I could find before installing it heater box had to be removed from the engine bay and the floor would have to be cut for it to fit. Installed the engine and transmission together. There was no interference in the transmission tunnel and no holes had to be cut. Once the engine was in the heater box was reinstalled. Bought new motor mounts for the previous 325 poly that bolted right up to the 361. The tranny mount will have to be modified as the mounting points do not align. Made 1 out of 1/4 plate steel. Used the exhaust manifolds that were on the 361 and had a local muffler shop fabricate the dual exhaust. The push button is a bit trickier. I used a cable from a 1964 Imperial for the length, to connect the mechanism to the tranny. If there is no lever for park you will have to make something. I used a simple throttle handle for a lawn mower. Mounted under the dash.
