Hello all,

I would like to upgrade my 1964 Newport to dual circuit and disc brake. Not for performance so I don't need one of those fancy kits, just a little extra peace of mind for a car I plan on driving a lot.

I found this helpful article about converting with Mopar parts but it specifically lists the year range as 1965-1969. Will a 1973 disc setup work on my 1964 or were there some changes in 1965 that made it possible?

Thanks!

You're out of luck on using a C-body spindle but apparently a 5th Ave spindle can be made to work with some slight tweaking.

If you google around you should turn up some info on the swap. IIRC late B-body, R bodies and F,M,J bodies all use the same spindle. R- bodies and 70's Cordoba will have the 11.75" rotors. The 11.75 rotor will also fit the FMJ spindle but you will need the Cordoba or R-body caliper adapters. I think someone has repopped these if you can't find used ones.

Hey Kevin, thanks for the reply. I'll keep researching. Like my dad always used to say; if it were easy, everyone would do it!
