Hard to find - 1966 Dodge Polara 2 door clean car has a little rust in the quarters 383 runs but carb need to be cleaned, has old gas in tank sat since 20012 in a shed. Tranny slips need to be rebuilt. Had new carpet and seat redone in 2010. needs a headliner. asking $2650.00 with rims and tires 2450.00 without rims and tires. I can sent more pic if interested. car was burgundy but someone sprayed in flat black. These 2 door are hard to find and this one is very nice car to start with for restoration.

Some body shop. I'm going to talk to one tomorrow, see what he says. AMD makes quarters for these cars, right? If only they did...

There are no suitable replacement panels available anywhere from anyone. Sorry. It's not a B-body....

You need another donor vehicle to make this worth the while. It's a typical Minnesota car with rusted quarters and who knows how much hidden rust elsewhere. Plenty of parts for my car, though. Just not at the asking price.

Body man said 4 figures each side to fix. Quarters, outer wheel housing, trunk extensions. That money could go towards an NOS something or other. I'm jealous of you guys that live in states that don't use salt. Hard to find clean cars around my neck of the woods at reasonable prices. Maybe there's gold under the seats...

It's a parts car in my opinion. Both lower quarters and front floor need replacing, interior needs almost everything replaced/repaired. Doors were hitting the fenders, leaves everywhere under the hood tucked up in the fenders.

I got my CHP car locally, I'd gone anywhere in the country for the right car, this one came up first and the price was right.

The other Polara was acquired in Montana and driven 1400 miles home, total "transport" cost $500 (Air, gas, room, food)
My Truck was from Oregon and driven 700 miles home, total transport cost $500 (gas up and back, food)

I may have spent $1500 just on rust repair, my total bill (labor only) for my CHP cars bodywork was $6000 and that was through final paint.


I think my point is for $2650 you could probably find another 66 Polara in better shape elsewhere in the country but people have this thing against traveling.

I agree with you. I never thought the price was reasonable, it is way too much for the shape of the car. I was hopeful that the interior was in good shape and the front fenders/grille was ok. Didn't turn out that way. There just isn't that many advertised cars up my way and I've known about this car for almost a decade and had too check it out. Cost me less than $15 to see if it was anywhere near worth it. Plenty of parts, but not for what the seller is asking.

I'm all about cheap. But I did just pay $50 more for exhaust than my purchase price of the car.

I agree completely.... I had a great time with my dad picking up the last Polara, 2100 plus miles round trip. The whole bill for the trip was probably nine hundred, trailer rental, tolls, food and gas. The experience was irreplaceable.
