The guy has been advertising this for the same money for over a year now. Same pics, same price. If anyone is seriously interested in this, I might be talked into looking at it for ya.

The guy is a genius, its a 65. I guess with his numbering skills, It makes sense why he put a 2 instead of a $ symbol in front of what the price should be.

I didn't really pay attention to the '66-vs-'65 error on the part of the seller. Oh, well. A solid $800 project, in my eyes. BUT, it is an Oklahoma car, so rust is pretty much a stranger here.

If that's the case and there is little to no rust, then I agree it would bring more $$$$, maybe $12-1500, mostly if you cleaned it up a bit and brought it to the east coast, rag tops are known to have rot everywhere over here, solid ones would get a premium.

Is that a 1973 Road Runner next to it? It looks like the remnants of the roof stripe by the rear quarter window.

It's more than that. The top mechanism alone is worth that to a '65 or '66 owner, plus the overall body isn't bad at all. Find ANY ragtop body for $500...I dare ya!

Patrick, what makes you think that top mechanism survived better than the zillion owners of rag tops who's top mechanisms didn't?

Stan,I've found that on the five or six ragtops I've parted out since 1982 or so, the top mechanism generally survived intact and undamaged. The last was about four years ago, on a Dodge Coronet that was pretty wasted, with the exception of the top guts. So, that is what I base my statement on. Of course, I've rarely had the displeasure of having to screw around with some East Coast or Rust Belt POS that has been eaten up to the door handles, but have not jacked around with one that was a convertible.

I must be getting older but not any richer. I'd get skinned alive if i showed up at home with this car and tell my better half that I paid #2500 for this car..

Of course I would tell her I paid $500 for it :D

I was fortunate to find the ragtop i have at the price i got it for. It will never be a trailer queen but it's an excellent cruising machine..

Hope is eternal Stan. I do it all the time.buy something on spec that looks 10 times worse than the one I have! oh the agony!
