Oh Mark, if that is within your price range do yourself a favor and go take that thing for a test drive and take your camera! NEED more details on this one!

its i my price range, absolutely
i can give them a call........and maybe even look @ it, but its not a convertible, so i'm not sure if i'd be happy with it or not. is a very classy car though.

an no ,that is the print ad, no link or pics, it is from a newpaper.also, notice that it says, mechanics and interior excellent.....does not say anything abt the body.......let me call them in a few, will let you guys know what they say, its abt 25 mins away

too late, just got off the phone........leaving in 5 mins, its a straight shot from carlisle to his place.

Now why can't i find a polara ragtop like this?

Don't forget your camera!!!

Just got back.........spent just under an hour with the owner and looking the car over good, taking pics, etc. it is white/blk half vinyl top, vinyl is immaculate, under the hood looks good, not butchered, a/c fully hooked up, fender tag is loaded with goodies, will try to decode it later if the pic came out. interior is very nice, not split, back seat is close to immaculate, color is wht leather w/blk cloth inserts, dash is excellent. car is loaded with options incl AC, auto beam changer, door edge guards, rear heat, pwr locks, power tr release, bucket seats, p antenna, am/fm/rr speaker, tilt/tele. sure grip according to the tag, 2.94 ratio. The owner is 80 yrs old, it was his father-in-laws car, spent most of the past 26 yrs in his barn. I was even able to pull up the rear seat and find a decent copy of the broadcast sheet, but its smaller than the typical mopar sheet. The rear belts look like they may have never been used.

body is very nice, has some sfc rust where the paint is starting to peel away, but the underside is excellent, even where the skirts meet the qtr panel. i saw no evidence of prior body work and no bondo anywhere on the car. It also has the orig dealer sticker on it, was sold new by Martin Motors of Harrisburg, PA (imper/chry/ply dealer).

and best of all, comfy as heck to sit in and plenty of room. car would be gorgeous with fresh paint on it.

And if I find a ragtop, I might just buy it........

a few more

the last one is of the pass side joint between the qtr and fender skirt...and look at the back corners by the sill moldings...no peeling or rust, obv this car did not sit outside

IMO its a survivor-driver

I have a strange checklist for things I look for immediately because they tell me a lot about the car.
And with this Imp?
The steering wheel isn't cracked!!!! That in itself tell volumes!

yes, i took a close-up of it (or tried to). here it is:

at least, i think that's the slight diff pic than the one i posted above. but the wheel is pristine

Nice car Mark, not for you??

well, the jury is still out, but most likely, no. i'd rather spend 10k for a really nice one with no paint needed. these are somewhat available. and i think its a bit too big for the space i have, do not want to park it crooked and take up 2 spaces. plus these are 4700 lbs, so the 440 does not do as good for them as it does on the other cars. if it was a ragtop, i might think differently, you know that's where my love lies.

BTW, that '69 newport ragtop i took the pics of is supp to be on ebay sometime tonight, will be interesting to watch.

the killer now is the extra few feet on these huge trunks, now that they are no longer needed they are a pain on a weekend car
