Pan handle is kinda Alabamaish. I love the west coast but there are a bunch of little towns an hour inland from the gulf that are scary as hell. East coast, whole nother story...

That area within the red box is probably the scariest area I've ever drove through. No scenery clear to the horizon. Several dried up towns with a handful of Mexicans. Desolate. Lonely. Spooky.

Ross: Bring your Challenger down here. See that stretch of US27 in the blue box? Good for 200 mph if you have the balls.
That's where I crapped my BVD's in the Vette and saw God.
