1968 Chrysler 300 convertible
350 horse 440/727 with factory air. car was parked in 69 and not taken out until 2003 to be restored, has 1278 original miles! idiots at dmv put miles exceeded cause it was bought at auction, but im seeing what i can do about fixing it.
has all new seat covers, carpet kit, new pearl white top and boot cover, that is all still needing installed.
i am trying to get the money up to have it all installed, but as of ryt now its sold how it sets!
eletric top works great. fresh paint.
absolutely NO rust
runs and drives, but im in the process of flushing fuel system and freshening up carb.

i honestly dont know what to ask out of it, but i would trade for a badass hotrod, etc..
also excepting cash offers also!

I'm not sure I understand it's history, was it parked outside since '69? Nothing about that car says 1200 miles.
Welcome to the site from the Motor City btw.

Ok,, so is it SOLD... or what....? Make up my mind.....

BTW,, there is a reason DMV put "exceeded" on mileage.....

wow, maybe i should of been more specific.
I never said it was stored in a climate controlled garage or a pristine vehicle. it was parked in a families barn in 69. they brought it out in 2003 due to the barn falling apart around it. it was a father and 2 sons project to restore it. Long story short, the father passed away and one of the brothers died in a car wreck. So that is how it got to where it is now. The other son didnt want to look at it anymore and took it to the auction.

the floors are perfect, the frame is perfect, numbers matching car. i have all new interior and a brand new top for the car. If i had some ridiculous price listed, then maybe i could understand the smartass remarks, but i put the car on here so that someone with more experience with them could finish the car the right way.

im not a mopar guy, so it doesnt matter to me what happens with it. I just figured i would give you guys a shot at it before it ends up at the county fair, in the derby.

and you are correct bluefury361, I do believe the miles are correct, but it is 1278 miles actually.

Xenon you will have to make your own mind up, read it correctly and it says it is being sold how it sets, without the new interior and top installed yet.

300rag, the trunk is in really good shape. I think being parked on a concrete floor is the only thing that saved whole car from being completely ruined

tbm3fan you have your opinion, i have mine. if you dont like my ad then why even reply? what more needs to be said.

detmatt hopefully that helps out on the story with the car. and thanks for the welcome.

anybody who wants to come check the car out is more than welcome, im pretty easy going and like to trade around.

Never mind the mileage, you should finish the car and take it for a spin because after that you'll want to sell the Chevy sitting next to it. It's going to be a real beauty after its assembled and worth more than it is as it sits. The claim about the mileage IF it were true really doesn't matter anyways since it's had a full cosmetic resto almost.

Good luck selling the car. The 68 300 is a great car. I think you would be better off not trying to present it as a very low mileage car. No one here is believing it, it has plenty of other good things going for it.

Good advice agreed.

thanks guys, i agree with you on the mileage, it is what it is. i have drove the car and it is a dream to drive. that 440 puts it to the ground! if any of my other cars sell, i will be finishing the 300. it is going to be a absolutely beautiful car when its done.

I would suggest that you put the top up and take some pics of that. And underside pics as well. A starting price would be helpful also.

Not to be insulting, but since you're open to offers, I'd pay $2000 the way it sits now.

Will it run and drive well enough to put on a transporter?

All the easy things have been done on this fine car. Deconstruction and paint. What remains would take a pro shop at least a year to complete. If the mileage of 1200+ were to be true, the engine would have perfect bores and just need refreshing. All the rubber bushings and mounts would need replaced. Every mechanical system needs to be checked. Living in a falling down barn means rodents and the associated damage. I see this ride headed to Europe, not a demo derby. I don't see a swap for a really fine hotrod but you never know these days.

You do realize that what you will potentially end up with is this if you put some extra work & effort into your project ..... Just saying !!!! :3gears:
