Poor kid. I feel bad for him. Grandpa is an asswipe.

1968 Dodge Polara - $3200 (Spokane valley)
I bought this car to start a restoration project so I could drive it to High School. The car had a clogged gas tank and plugged fuel line. The owner started it by pouring gas into the carburetor. That gave me some hope.My dad and I hauled it home and then proceeded to remove the gas tank.We cleaned it and put in a new sending unit.Cleaned and blew out the gas line and installed a fuel filter before the fuel pump and one before the carb.It started and ran momentarily.I found that the starter was bad so replaced it with a high torque starter from autozone.I had a friend rebuild the carb.Car wouldn't start. It wanted to but wouldn't.Went through two carburetors from Autozone and still wouldn't start.Replaced the spark plugs, wires, coil, and bought a new distributor.Car started and I drove it for two days with no problems exceptWhile driving it realized the brakes were spongy so found the master cylinder was leaking so replaced that and bled the brake and everything worked fine.Went to start it on the 3rd day and wouldn't start.Checked the distributor and found it to be malfunctioning and made in China, had bought it from autozone also.Found that the accelerator pump was not functioning properly so replaced the carb with one that I had bought at the swap meet. Replaced one of the heater hoses as it was leaking. Also had to replace the ignition switch as it had a dead spot every once in a while. Also put the old coil back on the car as we found that it was bad. I bought a new distributor from Motion, made in Mexico.Put it in and the car fired right up. Timed the car and at the advice of my Grandpa and who has helped me through this endeavor told me to turn it off and sell the car as it is not dependable enough for me.Through all of this tinkering I have replaced the two fuel filters twice and put fresh gas in the car. Also the car has a new battery. The car is currently titled and licensed in Washington State as a Collector Vehicle. I want to sell the car now and get something a little easier to work on and is a driver while I fix it.It could be a nice street rod or low rider or just restore it.I also have the front Dodge emblem for the hood took it off for sanding.

It is a 1968 Dodge Polara 2drht, 318 engine, 2brl carb, Automatic Transmission, Power Steering, Power Brakes, The interior needs to be redone. Mexican blankets for now. Body is very straight with no signs of rust through panels.

Wow, lots of pictures. Now what was this kid thinking? He bought it and thought it would be a driving restoration? Ah, no and not until you go through all the mechanical systems first. Reminds me of the 22 year old I bought my Dodge from. He too thought similar before deciding no and went to sell it. Except the Dodge wasn't in bad shape at all except needing to go through the braking system.
