Hi All,

I'm new here. I've purchased a 1968 Dodge Polara Hardtop. Factory 383 / 727 / 8 3/4. Factory Dodge Metallic Green and Black Interior and Black Vinyl Roof. Factory Power Steer, Air Con and Power Windows.

Plans are full restoration but metallic silver/blue colour, white roof and white interior. 383 stroked to 496 and a little customisation here and there.

Welcome to the site from the Motor City!

I meant if it is in Australia then it is required to have or be converted to right hand drive

Love it, welcome.

Silver or blue with white top will be beautiful.

I remember this car from quite some time ago.

You must have been hibernating....

Looks like a very good vehicle to start with and I think it would look good most any color.

Hey there,

Have to convert them if they are under 30 years old I believe. Quite a number of American cars here with original left-hand steer but overall, people seem to prefer to convert them. Up to the individual I suppose.......

It depends on what state you are in, as it isn't' a federal regulation you will find it does vary a little state by state, South Australia is 25yrs as is i think Canberra and NSW but Queensland is 30 years and I'm not sure what the other states are. But here is the kicker, yes there are federal conversion laws that cover cars that are imported that is standardized like all new seat belts and some mounts plus baby seat mounts in the back and changing the headlamps etc, but when it comes to how to convert the vehicle and how much and when, that's a different story. Typical bureaucratic clarity yes?
