I put timing chain in 318 no power to accessories inside to nothing except dome light it ran fine before we done timing chain it would Any suggestions I out new starter relay the car would sometimes not start it would just click no power sometimes inside but now no power except dome light

I would start by checking your wiring. Make sure the alternator wires are okay and check to see if any wires got broken during the timing chain work. I'm assuming that you disconnected the battery before doing the work. Check your fuses too. If it was fine before the timing chain was done, then there is a good chance the problem you are having is related.

maybe bulkhead connector...you moved just enough stuff around that maybe its no longer making contact...lots of issues with them and ways to bypass them on here

The first thing to check is any of the wiring you disturbed while doing the timing chain job.

Since you've said there where issues with starting before (if I'm reading the post correctly) I'm going to say this probably isn't a new problem.

So... I would check battery condition... The battery could be putting out enough power to light the dome light, but not enough to do much else.

From there, I would check all the battery cables. Like the battery, they can pass enough current to light the dome but not anything else. Look at the battery and the attachments to starter, starter relay and then all the ground attachments to the block AND the ground strap from the block to the firewall.

Those are the first things to check.... From there you will need to dive into other wiring.

I figured it out the alt wire was loose what size amp fuse do I need to run from back of alt to starter relay and do you thing the voltage regulator could be bad now since the alt wire was smoking due to bad connection
