I'm working on a buddies 68 Imperial Crown Coupe. The metal trim throughout the car has metal inserts covered by what looks like gold foil. The foil is discolored and in some places gone! The foil is applied to a metal insert that is then glued into the trim - see photos. Anyone know where to get foil? Inserts? If it was just the doors / sides I'd figure something else out but is incorporated throughout the dash. Any ideas/thoughts / suggestions appreciated

Awesome will give it a try - your right not much of a risk

That’s actually not a foil. Those are about 24 GA bronze sheet metal that was brushed and clear coated. It’s either the clear finish oxidizing or the clear finish deteriorated to the point that the metal itself is oxidizing. You’ll notice in the pics that scratching the surface on the back of one of these pieces exposes the base metal. Unfortunately once those are bent you will not get them to lay flat again.
