That is not the right red for that car but whoever had it done must have liked it cause they continued the theme under the hood.

Painted over Pentastar doesn't inspire a lot of confidence in the quality of the paint job. Did this model come with no chrome trim on the sides? Looks awful plain.

No, it had chrome trim. On the Imperial group list, someone made the joke that they couldn't get any trim clips, so they welded up 60 holes instead. I'm guessing that the chrome just migrated to the engine compartment.

I generally like reds with a lot of black, but that one looks a bit orange, too. And I think the red in the hubcaps is a bit much.

Still for $8,000, you would get a car in really nice shape, that you wouldn't see coming and going at every car show. It's a shame that Imperials are valued so low.

Edited to add:
Just noticed the title of the listing: "Chrysler Imperial Crown" Leaving aside the "Chrysler Imperial" part, since you probably get more traffic listing it as a Chrysler, the problem is that it's not a Crown. It's a Sedan. Crowns are pillarless.

(But the license plate saying "Chrysler" is annoying)
