1968 Newport Chrysler Window Washer Bottle

Window washer bottle: What method have others used to screw the screen on to the motor inlet inside the bottle? I have tried various sockets and pliers with no success. Unfortunately, the top opening of the bottle is offset, and not directly inline with the hole at the bottom. Thanks!

It's been a long time but I think I used a spark plug or 13/16 deep socket and universal joint and extension. A crow's foot might be another way.

On my 68 Newport ( ditto my 67 Monaco) I used a deep socket on a wobble extension.
I put the screen in the socket and insert into the jug upside down and start the threads by turning the washer motor.
Once you have the thread started you can tip the jug upright or sideways and crank her down.
Ensure the rubber gasket dies not twist up. A little grease here helps.
Fill the jug with water ( just enough) check for leaks.
Good? Then install on car.
