I just saw this on Facebook Marketplace, it is located in Massachusetts and was posted 5 hrs ago. '68 Fury Custom Suburban wagon, only a 318 but it has air conditioning and has 58,000 miles. Here is the link with some pictures when the ad goes away.....

Looks like a lot of potential rust problems on the firewall on driver's side. Being a Massachusettes car i would look over underside carefully.

I am seeing some paint that doesn't match. Tailgate is a different shade of green than the left quarter and is too green and is not a good match for the TT1 Avocado Metallic.

Dash has factory outlets in the pictures and the compressor looks to have the label on it with the charge size.

Never seen factory A/C with a single belt pulley and an idler.
Not saying they don't exist but I've never seen one.

318's with a/c did not use dual belts/pulleys, only big blocks had them in '68. My former '68 VIP w/ a 318 & a/c only had a single belt/pulley set up.

why they would do that?
A better question is: why to use two belts? You do that when there isn't much belt in contact with the pulley. If you look at the single belt configuration, you can see much more wrap around the pulley. This lessens the tendency for the belt to slip.

Agree. Getting two perfectly matched belts isn't always easy and can result in one belt getting thrown.
