I like this one. Low mileage and in good condition.

power windows in a newport wonder if its a 440 in there

That engine bay is showing more ware than 20 thousand miles.

It might be showing the effects of 43 years, though if it was always garaged that would tend to minimize the worn look, so I understand your questioning it. I also note an odd-looking aluminum(?) radiator.

That aside, I do like this car, even though I prefer the '70 and '71 models when it comes to Newports.

20 thousand miles and that tattered look? Look at those fender wells

They look more dusty/dirty than tattered to me. Are those parts plastic or steel on Chryslers of this vintage? My Cutlass has plastic front fender liners, while the '64 Skylark I used to own had metal. Metal are easier to refinish if tattered. :)

They are metal and scratched beyond acceptance of his 20k claim. I'd need more proof, serious proof.

I agree............those fender wells look like they have more than "just" 20K miles on them. He could have at least cleaned those up a bit.

Looks like a cat scratched them to hell then the scratches rusted up.

Then there is the four door factor and five grand......there are going to be a lot of big Chryslers out there with sellers thinking no one wants them.

The condition of the driver's seat would appear to support the claim.

I dunno how things are where you live, but around here, a car under $2000 is not much more than a parts car most of the time. From $2000-$4000 it might be a driver but usually in need of some repair. Not until you get to $5000 are you looking at something you might be able to turn the key and drive without having to do anything special. Add to that the "classic" surcharge and some of these prices don't seem out of line.

I enjoyed seeing all the for sale ads posted today. Some of them are worth nothing more than a few laughs, but others are cars that are worth taking a look at, I think.

Too bad we can`t see the fender tags on these classics. We would all have something to do on the off times decoding all these!

I have a seat with 80,000 miles on it and it looks that nice. Obviously the car spent time indoors, its that 20,000 mile claim that gets me. As I said I need more proof

$2,000 cars dont exist here if they do you are buying a wreck. Gary bought the last thousand dollar Chrysler in the state.

People knock California but I'm glad I am out here. Parts cars are $1000. Drivers can be $1500 as was my 73 Polara. Here is an example of a $1000 car which will not sell for that price. Missing some items which wouldn't deter me since I have all those parts in stock right down to the passenger fender. They are simply going to have to go lower since I bought my 1967 Park Lane for $950 and have been driving it now and then for 7 years.

The previous owner was deceased and her son just wanted it to go b/c he had no interest in "old" cars. I just got lucky...for once.
