I demand someone from FCBO grab that baby.
i'm not a buyer but i am surely happy to, along with several other of the Motor City area folks perhaps, go look at it for anyone interested.
I also have never seen it around but I also dont get to the Roseville (east) side of the metro Detroit area that much either.
nice car though.
SELLER DESCRIPTION - ASKING $3500
My old Mopar is up for sale. 58,000 miles. Runs and drives great, stops good. Three years ago I took it on a 2,500+ mile road trip all over Michigan, Ohio and Illinois. I wouldn't hesitate to do it again.
It has been well maintained and has never let me down. Things that don't work: Clock, temperature gauge and heater. Comes with lots of parts: the missing trim, original radio and other misc. MoPar stuff I've accumulated over the years.
Has rust in the typical areas, the trunk being the worst but it's not horrible. Rockers are solid and so are the floor pans and such. I've owned it for over 14 years and would like to see it go to a good home and fellow enthusiast.
Features:
Engine: 1971 318ci V8 with a mild cam, 1971 4bbl 340 intake with a Holley 600cfm carburetor (no choke), pump gas friendly. [Not original - has about 20,000 fewer miles than the car itself.] Nice lumpy idle and lots of passing power. People are always asking me what's in it.
Trans: Small block 727 [Original] - Shifts through the gears great, doesn't automatically downshift unless floored or you come to a complete stop.
Rear end: 8 3/4", 3.23 open. [Original]
Brakes: Four wheel manual drums. Stops great if needed, I've never needed to swerve to avoid anyone during panic stops.
Other details and partial story:
The car was last registered in 1981, found in New Boston, Michigan sometime back in 2003 or 2002. Judging from the lack of brakes, missing carburetor, the mice nests in the intake, radiator and air cleaner 1981 was also most likely the last year it was on the road.
The stickers on the door are from the Detroit area, the last one being somewhere on Gratiot in 1978, so it looks to be an original Michigan car... 14 years ago the car got new brake lines, brakes, drums turned, master cylinder, wheel cylinders, alternator, starter and the engine swapped. About 4 years ago it got a new gas tank, fresh fluids & filters everywhere, new Goodyear tires with an alignment, heater core bypass, the factory radiator was redone, now a 3 row, oh and 4 new headlights. A
Also put in an Alpine stereo (CDA-9835) & amplifier (MRP-F450) with two speakers in the back package tray area, Boston Acoustics (SL-95's). There has to be more I'm missing..
Call or text me if interested, please no tire kickers or emails. No dealers, I don't need any help selling and I'm not going to ship the car anywhere.
