Ok guys, I'm putting this one out there pretty early. It's not ready to go just yet, but I want to give FCBO people a chance and hopefully this car stays together rather than being parted out. As I mentioned in another thread, I picked up the same year/model with colors I like better (you could probably sell me anything with a white interior*)

This is a car I really wouldn't consider driving more than a trip around the block, and to be fair I haven't started it for more than a year (although like the 300, I'll document getting it running). It is still a solid car, but not quite as nice as the 300. The rust under the roof insert shouldn't be any worse than you see in these 5-y/o photos, because I wire-wheeled and painted it. It's either been indoors or covered outdoors since. I tarp them over the greenhouse, but leave the bottom open so it breathes.

Also... I intend to keep a few parts for my incoming car. The most notable would be the rear bumper because my "new" car has some dents. You'll get this dented bumper. The dents are fixable. If swapping the rear a/c isn't a huge hassle, I'm keeping that and giving up the rear defroster from mine. Might need to keep the wheel covers if the new-car's seller cant find the OEM covers. There is also a minor title issue. The seller wrote my wife's name, with her Ohio address (she still owns that address) on the MI title because I didn't have my ID (don't ask). However, we later learned that among many other police-state laws in Ohio, they require a police inspection of cars coming in from other states (WTF?) Since this is a pain-in-the-a$$, and the car isn't drivable to Ohio, we never did it. There is probably a way to fix this.

Plan on a complete resto. There is some bondo in the upper left 1/4, but I doubt it's very deep as it looks normal from the trunk side. Otherwise the paint is original. The inner lower 1/4s are solid, but the outside has pin-hole-like rust. Otherwise I recall it being pretty solid. Black interior is very good. More pics will arrive as I start working on it.

No deals made until I get it up and running, which might be a couple weeks. Just announcing it if anyone is considering a winter project. That may sound weird, but it will motivate me to get it done.

Did all the Imperial's have vinyl top's? I see the plug where the rear window is mounted. Reminds me of the Daytona Chargers with the rear window flush with the body.

Probably 99% did in the fuselage era. In '69 and '70, they offered a (slightly) cheaper Crown model that used the larger (chrysler) window. But sales were very low, so by '71 through '73, they were all LeBarons with window plugs.

Carmine -
On the out-of-state title question, you should check with your DMV. Similarly, Indiana requires any car incoming with an outside-state title to have a police inspection and paperwork. There is an Affadavit form to download from their website, and you either drive the car to the DMV (which is ironic!), or if car is not drivable you call your city/county sheriff's office for them to do the inspection at the house.

For me, the several times I did it, they'd send a nearby officer that wasn't busy, he'd look at the car's VIN vs the title, put the VIN in his laptop to run for any stolen car records, then sign the Affadavit and off he'd go. 10 min tops, and you get to chit-chat with them as well (you never know when that'll come in handy!) Then I took Affa + title to the DMV. Really quite painless.

I don't think your wife's address on the title should be a big deal, you'd simply tell them it is not your current address and show your DL with correct address, and should be updatable from there into the new title. Esp should not be an issue if a Mich title doesn't require the buyers address to be written in at time of purchase (IN does not require it).
