Ok guys, I'm putting this one out there pretty early. It's not ready to go just yet, but I want to give FCBO people a chance and hopefully this car stays together rather than being parted out. As I mentioned in another thread, I picked up the same year/model with colors I like better (you could probably sell me anything with a white interior*)
This is a car I really wouldn't consider driving more than a trip around the block, and to be fair I haven't started it for more than a year (although like the 300, I'll document getting it running). It is still a solid car, but not quite as nice as the 300. The rust under the roof insert shouldn't be any worse than you see in these 5-y/o photos, because I wire-wheeled and painted it. It's either been indoors or covered outdoors since. I tarp them over the greenhouse, but leave the bottom open so it breathes.
Also... I intend to keep a few parts for my incoming car. The most notable would be the rear bumper because my "new" car has some dents. You'll get this dented bumper. The dents are fixable. If swapping the rear a/c isn't a huge hassle, I'm keeping that and giving up the rear defroster from mine. Might need to keep the wheel covers if the new-car's seller cant find the OEM covers. There is also a minor title issue. The seller wrote my wife's name, with her Ohio address (she still owns that address) on the MI title because I didn't have my ID (don't ask). However, we later learned that among many other police-state laws in Ohio, they require a police inspection of cars coming in from other states (WTF?) Since this is a pain-in-the-a$$, and the car isn't drivable to Ohio, we never did it. There is probably a way to fix this.
Plan on a complete resto. There is some bondo in the upper left 1/4, but I doubt it's very deep as it looks normal from the trunk side. Otherwise the paint is original. The inner lower 1/4s are solid, but the outside has pin-hole-like rust. Otherwise I recall it being pretty solid. Black interior is very good. More pics will arrive as I start working on it.
No deals made until I get it up and running, which might be a couple weeks. Just announcing it if anyone is considering a winter project. That may sound weird, but it will motivate me to get it done.
