IF the car was originally black and I was looking for a car to do, I would give it a look to see if it were solid.

I am weak for certain cars and a 69 sport Fury convertible is one of them.

I agree with Dave.

I am a fender tag junkie and if it a real X9 black car with a Hi po engine:
I would do it and check it out before I would touch a beige or green 318 vert in better condition

Here is my thinking, any convertible or coupe with a rust free shell is going to be worth $2500, not matter what the rest of it looks like, especially to anyone who can't do rust repairs themselves. How often do we see trunk floors with holes and lower rear quarters with rot or even some holes in the floors? $2500 to buy a car then NOT have to do any rust repairs is a whole lot better than buying a 1500 dollar car with some rust.
Now I wonder if this car has any rust?

Lots of "ifs", but I agree, if its not rusted out, the price is not totally unreasonable.

It certainly warrants investigations, if anyone is close enough to Waco. (It's about two days drive from me.)

The front seats look like the correct seats for the Sport Fury (not that I am an expert, but just from what I've seen on the net).

The original body color...hmmm.. just guessing based on one picture, would be "hawaiian blue".

Look at the one interior shot, with the door panel trim off on the passenger side.

One thing in the ad was very entertaining. She mentioned "This car does run."

Umm...it "runs", OK, I will buy that. But "driving" it might be little more difficult. :)

WE need more pictures!

With all the "self-driving" cars these days, maybe this is a long-forgotten Chrysler prototype!

rust in the trunk floor, lower quarters or floorboards are no big deal.
That is rust which is "easy" to handle.
Rusted out frame rails are a big job

But lower quarters?
My buddy who is a bodyman will do lower quarters on the both sides in a few hours.
Bring the car friday afternoon pick it up done sunday evening including the construction of "new" lower quarters.
No Joke

Carsten

Lucky you! :)

If you have a friend or a family member who does good and cheap body work, that's a huge plus!

I've tried to do some "shade tree" body work in the past.

Ugh. Looks "third world" quality at best. :icon_cry:

Just not my talent in life. I don't think I have the patience or the eye for it.

Take a closer look......that is not a power seat. Looks like it may have been blue originally from the pass door but impossible to really tell with the lousy cell phone pics.
