Here's an Barracuda oddity some seek Plum Crazy,/6, 3speed manual. Has the small lower scoop. I forget the code (m46?) but rare if original to the car.

@cudahunter

Thank you guys a bunch. ! I collect that specific option, m46, simulated side scoop.
Available on 1970 BH barracuda ONLY. about 400 made.
There is a thread about this car. Very interesting. Unfortunately it's not an original M46.
I was planning my trip to the auction until I got the fender tag readout.
I can't justify 30 hours of driving to go buy a rust bucket to just get the scoops off of it.
NOW, if anyone is near and wants to go to the auction and get me the name and phone number of the high bidder I would gladly, gladly pay you a high grade price just to get me in touch with the guy that's gonna throw these rare scoops in the trash. Most folks did. They didn't realize the scoops were a Ma Mopar option and figured they were aftermarket.

Is anyone around this area of Iowa?

Scoop details.

List of known M46's.

My want ad with tons of info.

And the discussion about the car above.

@barnfind
Where did you find that picture. I've looked for any additional pictures and I had not seen that one you posted.

Note that this car appears to have originally had the v5x installed. Body protection side moldings.
M46's did not come with these moldings ever. At least not in the 29 that I have on my small registry.

The side moldings would interfere with the look of the blackout and body stripes below them.
Similar reason there was no rocker moldings, it would look wrong and both options, Gran coupe and Cuda would run into the scoops.

Also notice that this car has a few oddball options that I have not been able to find on another ebody fender tag that i have recorded or can find.

A46- moldings package
Y91- show car finish w/0 gas

That is another picture I have not seen. Not sure why I can't find more than the one facebook page.
Thanks though.

Oh yeah! That is like hens teeth. Especially if your trying to find parts for the v6.

bh23C0B242313 sold at auction for 10,000.00.
The auctioneer did pass my number along to the owner.
I'm hoping I get a chance to buy the scoops since they do not belong on this car.
The new owner told the auctioneer that he wanted to keep them at this point but would consider selling.
Hopefully the car gets a restoration and someone realizes that the scoops don't belong on that car.
Probably not, but it's nice that the auctioneer passed along my information as I had asked him to.
Props to Goehring auction services.

I bid on the car as I knew I could flip the car after getting the scoops off. But I wasn't ready to tie up that kind of money just to flip a car for a coupe of parts that are not really worth even 1K.
