No trans, no problem. No engine, no problem (although one might wonder what happened to those).....no title.....that's a problem.

Jeez.......I wonder where the drivetrain went???

The title issue depends on where it goes. I haven't lived in NC for a few years, but don't recall it being a big issue at the time to file for a lost title. It might not be such a big deal if it stays local. 70NPORT, I noted you were in Jersey. I think where missing titles are concerned we can stop there, having heard stories of the laws and red tape involved there :BangHead:

no title is a problem?
I know a guy who made an "Alabama registration" (no title state) and could get one easily after that

Carsten

yes, and after he had an "Alabama registration" he could get a title in his state because Alabama was known as being a "non title" state

I can tell you all are talking about Broadway Title.
One state after another is banning his transfers.
I think he's now passing the registration through Afghanastan.
They're still fairly lax from what I hear.

Yup. NJ DMV is a ***** and then some....so are a few other states in the area....Maryland comes to mind. PA isn't that much better I think.

Back in 1982 I acquired a title through a newspaper service, I don't recall the name, from Alabama. I received a Letter from a judge stating that the car was registered in Alabama along with a registration card and a nice new license plate which I still have, all for the Princely sum of $25. I found the info in the back of "Car Craft" or "Hot Rod" magazine. Those were the days. Back to the OP, I've been watching this one, looks like great sheet metal and other stuff, but it's been on CL for over a month, so I imagine it is either derbyed or crushed.

TITLE TO SCRAP AH CAR? I'd think it would depend ah lot on how big the piecez are that get hauled to the land fill and spread over how many tripz. Thatz what getz the chop shop operatorz sent to the gray bar hotel around here in the Motor City. They leave the skeletons pile up in there back yeadz 'til they can be seen from ah 1/4 mile away.

A few years ago I bought a 66 Mustang here in NC. to flip. It was from a couple who had moved here from Alabama. No title as Ala. didn't require one. There was official paper work. I was unable to get it tittled here & sold it for scrap to a Mustang collector. I jumped through all of their hoops. Filled out all the paper work. Did everything they ask yet they still denied me a NC title. They wanted me to Bond the car. I can tell you from experience its hard to flip a "bonded" car here in NC.
