AGAIN!?!:iamwithstupid::ban:

I actually feel pain looking at this one...

Is he waiting to paint the hood? Looks like it's in primer. Ohhhhhhh, and for 25k, he better repair the deck lid where someone popped out the lock.

He aint fixin it...I bet is he needs the money for the lawyers... what he did to the car. Criminal. I am a custom fan, this is a car I would love stock... so it pains me greatly to see he put serious restoration money into devaluing the car.
if he was keeping it fine... but who would buy this?

That's been my gripe fro years

That's been my gripe fro years

I wasn't around for the 50s 60s custom era... I know some cars sold and passed around to be remade personal by their next owners... I'm sure a lot of ugly and half assed ones were left to rot. Seems more of these I see are unwanted by any after their original customizer and they all think they're building an investment. TV and the internet are to blame, but it would have been magazines before that. I just hate savable iron getting destroyed so some spoiled little pissant can imagine himself a "gangster" or whatever they call themselves. Its yours make it your dream, but when you decide to sell it... your subject to the opinions of others. If it gets a new owner somehow... I would be much kinder to them.

A ½ decent original will keep appreciating. It will always be in demand.
Some douche nozzle steps in and interrupts the process. One less car down the road for the people who love, care, and appreciate these cars.
Anybody who condones the "it's your car do what you like" mentality is as much a douche nozzle as the perpetrators of the theft of yet another car to be appreciated in the future.
I wish I had the money to buy a Renoir and set it on fire to toast a marshmallow with it. Same thing.

I both agree and disagree with you Stan, doing your best to preserve, make functional or mildly personalize doesn't bother me. I have too much of a Ralph Nader safety mentality to endorse a lot of the outlandish stuff. I wouldn't be so bothered by this guy's mods if he weren't trying to flip it, especially at a price that will inspire some wannabe that maybe that crap has a payday. If it was his dream car and he was just showing it off without a for sale sign, I wouldn't bust him down too hard.

A little welding and the wing removes. Questionable colors might turn someone on... even if 2 tone is sacrilegious... it can be reversed by the next guy. Bagging the car would be prohibitively expensive to undo... but look at the B's and E's that are getting undragstered.

:campfire: so can I have a marshmallow?:poke:

Sorry about the triple post. When I saw this abomination it was just too much for me to not share. It's his car, do what you will with it. But for keerist's sakes, what orifice is he pulling this price from? This person has spent far too much time in front of the tv watching pseudo reality car restoration programs.

well hey... I mostly agree with Stan... not the first to call me douche nozzle either... if that was going to hurt my feeling I wouldn't have lasted a week in my career. Hell... even my Mom calls me worse...

He just subsumed himself under your legal Definition of a douche nozzle in the car nut field. Did it all by himself. ;)

Where did i call you a douche nozzle?

Yes... and my feeling isn't hurt... Plum Crazy, Matte finish hood is a favorite color combo on a B or E body coupe for me... on a more open minded viewing of the car the interior isn't too bad and great color, buckskin? don't know my colors that well. This could be reversed into a nice cruiser. I love Daytona's and SB's so the wing tribute thing that I hate on this for sale model... still sucks.

If this kid showed up at a show and was enthusiastic and loved his car, I bet you would encourage him to keep loving it and if not to your taste, you wouldn't want to crush him and chase him from the hobby. You might even want to help mentor him as he matured into the hobby and recognized the beauty of the stock form of this car. It would be more about his attitude and love for his car.

The fact that he did all of this and wants a payday from it deeply affects my perspective of the car. While fixable, this fickle little bastard has decide to cash out with a profit. In his social circles he very likely thinks himself an automotive genius and the next reality show star waiting to be discovered. I liked listening to the OCC idiots yell at each other... mild form of the reality I worked with in many shops... but those guys couldn't fix a sandwich. I try to watch the new shows as I notice them... its hard and they usually don't keep a spot on my DVR for long. The car flipper shows suck and drive stupidity and prices. In what universe is Aaron Kaufman a "Master Mechanic"? As bad as that show became I continued to try to watch just to keep up with the dumbass ideas the younger people were influenced by... then he pulled out a white board and lab coat and gave a lesson on the insanity of a old ford and left hand lug bolts he couldn't figure out...This, several seasons into his show and several dozen left hand lug nut cars later... DVR cancelled that day. Love Foose's creative work... the one week build format didn't leave enough time for anything to fully cure... how many body and restoration guy's have had to explain the time process to customers because of that. How many camshafts did the GMG guys wipeout on air, and they don't build their own stuff. As far as I can tell these shows make more from TV than cars, watch GYC and tell me how anything gets done... clowns for the camera and on air F-ups to provide dramatic effect. I love the Mopar stuff and sometimes there is good information, but how many people now think they need to install their subframe with a fully built driveline on old B and E bodies, or that a 3 man team should accomplish 2-3 hours worth of flat rate in a day?

The tuner group was an interesting sub culture when it began... performance upgrades to economy fwd cars... then the FNF movie came out and killed it... all about looks or the "10 second rice rocket"... and poor kids trying to make a driver do this stuff. I liked a Civic that could take a corner and had a 10-20 HP bump... seemed like a fun car the way 50s 60s sports cars were. The latest trend I'm seeing is too small tires stretched onto wide wheels and cambered to the sidewall... good idea kid, what function could that have other than a tire that will self dismount at anytime? When I shop for a used late model that cold air kit automatically disqualifies the car for me. It might be ok, but chances are you did something stupid I don't want to fix. The more open filter element of oiled gauze type filters allows more fine dirt into the engine, so at very least life span has been affected. And how many kits replace a nice plastic, heat non-conductive induction system with chrome metal or grab air from a hot roadway or behind the radiator? Why doesn't that compute for so many people.

If you love your car, enjoy it and make it what you want. If you think there is a return on investment to be had... you're a flipper. If you do dumbass things to follow a trend and then try to flip... I hope you go broke.

Sorry for the passionate rant...

Stan I self identified... nothing against you...

I would drive it at 1/10th the price.

Then in a couple of years remove the wing and repaint it stock.

Sell the wing and have your purchase Price back. ;)
