We offer again this beautiful collector 'hot rod.' It was withdrawn from the market while waiting for a prospective buyer to come into his money and has not yet. The car belongs to an area rancher who would like to have the barn space it occupies for other equipment. There are certain rules you MUST observe in inquiries about this car. The first is that the car is rare and therefore expensive, although just about any new car costs more money. The offering is not because the owner is financially distressed, so lowball offers will immediately end our conversations. Second, and closely tied to the first, NO TIRE KICKERS. I don't have time to deal with 'no-hopers' for whom the car pushes their button and they just want to work me digging up information for conversation. If you cannot afford the car, leave me alone. Third: NO SCAMMERS. The instant I think you have some sort of scheme in mind will be the last time you receive a reply. Fourth: No anonymous inquiries. Serious buyers will provide verifiable BONA FIDES [name, physical address, telephone, and e-mail address {all verifiable}]. Our time is valuable and we do not play games.

Now to the car: The 440 TNT engine was factory installed as shown by the data plate. The original paint color was silver, a color which did not last well until newer developments stabilized it, so it was painted black probably more than forty years ago. The paint is still beautiful because the car has apparently always been a 'hangar queen.' There has never been any significant rust. There are a few needs easily dealt with by a skilled hobbyist or repairman. Although big, wide, and heavy, the car is very exciting to drive. You are encouraged come to the Panhandle to view and drive this wonderful beast

It would still be wayyy over priced if they dropped the price by 10Gs.......
With the interior needing work and it being the wrong color really kills it..

And the poster makes a few "demands" yet won't even clean the car or
give much description....

They are a lazy dreamer.... !!!!

Its been for sale for several years now. That tells you something...................

This is at least the third time this car has been posted here. I talked to this guy over three years ago. Nice guy, but delusional. At the time, he claimed the car to be a No. 1 condition car, but I think the required repaint and a replacement interior shoves the car down to a weak No. 3. And who knows what else would turn up with a close inspection. I think $11,500 is about where it oughta be. . . Also, Higgins, TX is in the middle of nowhere and not easy to get to.

Would love to have this car but not a anywhere near that price. And being broke makes it impossible too lol. It would have to be showroom to be close to that price and still that be pushing it. And rare doesn't mean it's expensive and you can find them, but since i have 6 of these they are harder to find lol

He is asking a No. 1 condition price for a No. 3 car, and HE is worried about someone wasting HIS time. Sheesh!

Now for my rules:
I don't even inquire on a vehicle that is clearly in the hands of a stubborn, clueless a**wipe who runs their mouths for three paragraphs (written as one) about their wants, needs, and demands before getting to a verbose yet insufficient description of the vehicle being offered. Like going on a date and opening with: "FIRST THINGS FIRST."
Keep your damned resprayed "beautiful, collector 'hot rod'".

Can't detail the car for top dollar? I'm sure he hasn't checked a dipstick or done any other routine maintenance. Lazy bastard who watches auctions on tv and thinks he has the next big dollar collector car.

This is classic "evil circle". The car is way overpriced (even by European standards) = no sale when showing the car to potential buyers, which is then interpreted by seller as "Tire kickers", and instead of lowering the price, he writes somewhat unpleasent BS (except the part abt anonymous buyers / sellers in which I totally agree), but even the "Fact sectoion" was vague, and very uninformative.

The more I read, the less I want to talk to the guy. I totally agree about the bad seller attitude, and I would feel VERY challenged in regard as what to write after that... "presentation".. Maybe it would go something like this:

Hello.. I am calling about the 300 posted in CL..

"Our time is valuable and we do not play games"... -
Oh.. I'm mostly just into wasting time myself.. but, eh... what's the milage on the car?

"I don't have time to deal with 'no-hopers' for whom the car pushes their button"
OK sir, I see.. ehhh, do we have bench or buckets?

"They just want to work me digging up information for conversation"
Yes.. well, do we have a console, or a buddy seat.. and could you waste just a LITTLE more of your valuable time on facts abt the car, and options?

What a complete :realcrazy:!

But... I really like the engine.. it looks clean, in a nice way.. and the car must have been stunning in silver (not that I don't like the black)
